A lot of milstrat is a very hightech modernized version of ‘Risk’…lots of situations in many fields are amenable to this kind of practice.
Anybody ever hear about ‘sand tables’? They are probably earlier than any form of chess…almost certainly.

I think the Greeks, and the Russians, and the Arabs may disagree with you. And lately there has been some tension with its long ally Israel.
And after Risk they can play Jumanji and learn how to survive.
