“Breakfast of a Young Man”. That’s a breakfast? That’s a young man? I think this is a dietary cautionary tale.

Click-to-enlarge image: click the (currently) last icon on the page and choose the size. Fit width is probably the largest; depending on the size of your screen, it may be larger than the actual (large greeting card) size, roughly 8⅝" x 7¼".Current-location’s Breakfast of a Young Man enlarged image and webpage (no description — since it was painted during the 1600s, I have no idea what the significance of the

What the heck is with the Hake? Limburger, onions and mouldy rye bread?

Wine is fine, but liquor is quicker.

    Hake, as in fish.

I agree, it does not appeal to be a breakfast that I would want and he is NOT a young man. It seems to be a fish and a small animal as well as a cake(none very appealing). Not even a tiny bit of fresh fruit. The baby hawks in my photo might enjoy that meal.
