Grandma: What happened to you?!
Michael: I got run over going out the door on the last day of school.
Grandma: So the final bell rang and the other kids ran you over in their rush to get out?
Michael: Actually, it was the teachers.
I felt the same way as the teachers. After working in a middle school cafeteria, trying to keep 300 students in line with only one other co-worker- need I say more.
the children in our area get out early on the last day about 1pm…when I was teaching in the classroom we would sit around praying that the principal would announce we could leave early

We used to play games on the last day when I was in Elementary School. By the time I got to High School, we just wanted to get out of there!

I taught many years ago. On the last day, “O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” I’d chortle in my joy.
