The world was simpler when I was a kid. Well, you know why that is. What? Why? Because you were a kid. It wasn't the world that was simpler, it was your world that was simpler. Excuses were simpler when you were a kid.
It was simpler. News was on maybe 2 x a day and updates to world events took days to confirm not minutes. We used to live world events in the past tense, not present tense. Today unconfirmed news is repeated hourly to instill a mode of righteous indignation among the masses.
it was simpler. ..no cellphones, no smart phones ,no computers or Kindles, no video games, no gps, no constant surveillance by video cameras and satellite……nothing but board games, comic books and playing outside.sure, an adult back then had more problems and complications than a child but it was simpler — much simpler
In my day we had 20 channels of TV. We turned the channel with a DIAL. We phoned people by rotating another dial. We went outside from after school till supper, and than went to bed shortly after.Ah, I wish I was but a young lad again, I’d try to change things (or ask God for a better family!)
Frank is right. His world was simpler when he was a kid. Just not THE world. .See today’s Agnes and what she has planned for her summer vacation. I think she and Frank might be on the same page.

I disagree with this, and I’m a kid!I guess that means I’m not that good at what I do…

Frank is just a grouchy old man. He needs a girlfriend or a laxative, maybe both.

@Greg Trail: Once you’re not a kid any more you’ll agree with it.

The world is simpler to each of us.

The world of comics is simpler. There’s only four panels.
And I try to cram way too much into each of them…

20 channels? We had 4! But yes, this is very true, wise, I needed to read it. I am sharing it with my teen. Thank you, Greg.
