When I was a kid we looked for that Kodak moment. Now Eddie’s waiting for that YouTube minute.

    Or is it the miniseries?

I’m not sure about the “boring” part, but I’m fairly sure that, if such a movie is to be made, she’d like him to be still alive ;)

Scott wrote a pool into the Buckets close to the end of his tenure. I occasionally trot it back out if I need it. Me, personally, I don’t have a pool, so it’s sorta tricky to write it in. My folks bought a house with a pool a couple of years before I moved off to college. So I recall how cool it was, and how much work. No telling what taking care of a pool is like these days.

So is Mom cheering him on or freaking out? Hard to tell from her expression. (yes I know from Toby’s comment which)

I drew a house plan for my original comic strip, Kajazzered. I didn’t really do much with that strip, though, because I felt it was much too similar to Calvin and Hobbes.

With two broken legs and a pair of broken arms, I don’t see a summer of excitement, Toby.

If I were a rich man, I’d build a 25 yard 2 lane indoor pool. I’d mark one of the lanes as reserved for me during certain time periods, and rent it out the rest of the day. It’s still a lot of work maintaining it, but it would beat having to share a lane at the pool I regularly swim at. As someone who was responsible for our outdoor pool as a kid, it’s the bugs, windblown dirt, large temp fluctuations, leaves, and random wild animals that decide to go for a swim that make taking care of it a pain. If you don’t mind it turning into a scum-filled pond, it’s not so bad.

Greg, our pool pretty much maintains itself. Once a week, we drop the pool vac into it, and it walks up and down the sides to get everything spic and span, and swirls the water nicely. As a result, we use much less chlorine, the ph stays good, and the water’s crystal clear.

Life in summertime Texas can be pretty miserable — unless one has a pool. And that bitty foam pool football to bop the nephew with……
