Transcript:
Well Doc, we kinda violated the time travelers code, but I feel pretty good about it... Yes... It is quite satisfying to save over 1,500 souls. So I guess the only thing keeping this from being a totally corny happy ending is the fact that we're stuck here... In 1912... Because without the time vortex watch, we... Arr! Arrr! Arrr! Arr! The time vortex device! A passing sea lion caught it when it fell from the promenade deck and slipped it onto its flipper!! Arr! Arr!

A Totally Corny Happy Ending?! In Monty?! What’s so corny about a passing sea lion with a time vortex watch on its flipper showing up on an iceberg where two comic strip characters have just rescued 1500 souls from the Titanic? What’s not to believe?

No otariids (sea lions and fur seals) are native to the North Atlantic, as far as I know. But there are five more sea lion species in addition to the California sea lion.

Don’t be surprised Monty if everyone is drinking schnapps and doing the goose step when you return…

My favorite Ray Bradbury is “Dandelion Wine”.
…as for changing the future, don’t forget Harlan Ellison’s Star Trek TOS episode, “City on the Edge of Forever” where Kirk had to let Joan Collins die.

Will that seal be willing to part with that Time Vortex watch? Stay tuned all Monty fans!

A lesser comic would have resolved this with a deus ex machina.

There are otariids (sea lions and fur seals) that live at the same latitude as where the Titanic went down, but none of them naturally live near the longitude where the Titanic went down. As you said, north of the Equator they all live in the Pacific Ocean.
