Mr. Veeblefester: With all of my riches, why aren't I happier?
Mr. Veeblefester: I would be happy with what I have...
Mr. Veeblefester: If I didn't know there were people out there who have more!
#1- this is just a comic strip, climb down off your high horse#2- most Republicans, like myself, are very far from wealthy and work hard for what they have and don’t expect entitlements#3- if we were going to take this strip seriously (oh geez) let’s just totally disregard all the jobs he’s created with that vast wealth! How about tax him at 75% so he can’t hire any more people and quickly goes out of business, laying off hundreds, possibly thousands. That sounds like fun!
Sure, see an above comment. Taking all of humanity into account all of America is the 1%. And if conservatives are in the 1% and possibly in leadership at least they do not want u dead!!! Let alone the leadership. Prov 24:11-12
ummm thank you..Washington Post reporters……meanwhile, back at the comic….i remember watching " Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and feeling really bad about myself…..I don’t have to know politics to know that there are peeples that are richer and that are poorer than me….i just take care of me..and mine…..that’s life..
its because money can’t buy happiness, if you can’t be happy poor you won’t be happy rich. However, rich does reduce stresses of wondering where you’ll be living next month.
You do realize the very ones who promote the hatred for the “1%”, their term, not mine are also members of that 1% club themselves, don’t you? It’s just a distraction from stuff that actually matters that they don’t want to have to deal with. All just political mumbo jumbo.
I can’t speak about Medicare (not old enough, yet) but I do know that I earned my Social Security benefits. I also earned all of my VA medical benefits in Tonkin Gulf, b ack in ’72.

Just curious….why is it correct to say, “Aren’t I,” but incorrect to say, “I are not?”

The envy of other people’s wealth prevents MANY from being happy.
Learn to appreciate what you have and you will be much happier.
