I won’t ask how Tricky Teevo got out of thebuilding and into a car. There’s nothing like a good plot complication.

Every businesses nightmare. A virus that is placed on the server from behind the firewall. I hope that the communications is the only thing that got hit. Davey may have some hidden talents we didn’t know about, or Teevo knows more about computers than I thought.

I found that after being “number one” the thrill is kind of gone. Like when Jim Morrison was told he would never be on the Sullivan show again and said, “I’ve done the Sullivan show.” Awww, I’m just bummed about Chief Patton. Never thought I’d have an emotional attachment to a comic strip. Fantastic work, Mike and Joe.

Pat Patton was shot in the line of duty back in the Big Boy days of 1929-30 and pulled out of it fine. Spent a few dailies in a hospital bed, a few more with his arm in a sling and then helped DT round up Ribs Mocco. He’ll be fine. Teevo is another story however. He’s going away for a long time.

TEEVO MUST DIE!The dirty fink shot our beloved Chief Patton; he pushed the button releasing Mylar’s Virus into the com system; he’s using a squad car with emergency lights and siren to race to the aid (he thinks) of Mr Crime! He is, for the moment, my Public Enemy No. 1, Wanted Dead or Alive! (Yeah, I likes me a little “frontier justice” at times like this.)

I may be wrong but I think I remember Mike commenting a while back that at the end of this arc there would be as many as 6 die in the final shootout.

Weren’t there two shots? Did Teevo get off both shots? It’s kinda hard to miss at that range. I suspected that Pat was pulling out a 1890 vintage single action .38 revolver that wasn’t cocked. No match for a Glock.

I think Teevo could get out of HQ because not everyone would be aware that he is a mole. I guess the shoot-out with Chief wasn’t witnessed by anyone and then the focus was on the Chief.

Lets not kill the Chief off yet. All that we know for sure is that he is on the floor unconscious.

I was afraid of something like this. The Chief is a lot older than Teevo, and even if his gun had been cocked, he’d have been hesitant to fire.Teevo, on the other hand, had nothing to loose.Going to Mr. Crime’s lair isn’t a good idea – if Panda didn’t tell anyone who the mole was, Teevo might get a 9mm greeting from B-B Eyes!

Ah, to be number one on the ol’ message board

For some, it’s the apex, to others it’s abhorred

Such a race, for some, to be the one who’s first

Only to become the subject of scorn and silently cursed

Oh, what we endure for this brief moment of glory

But enough of that, let’s get to the story

The chief is down, a victim of foul play

The word goes out, someone will pay

But what’s this? Smoke curls at the chiefs side

Hopefully he put a big hole in that rat Teevos’ hide

Communications breakdown, man it’s a pain

An airwave takedown, now that’s just insane

No virus was the cause of this dastardly bug

Teevo, it seems, simply pulled the plug

Now he races across town, seemingly to seek redress

For what has become a really big mess

To the edge of the cliff we find ourselves once moreNever really sure of just what’s in store

So on tenterhooks we wait with our breath bated

Will our expectations ever be sated?

Thanks, M.M.M, VistaBill, mzkdad, Det.DD, Mike Curtis and margueritem, for the comments yesterday.

The muerte vine is way too good for Teevo. It’s the barracuda for him! (The vine can have the leftovers of the ’cuda’s Teevo dinner … if any.)Great poem, wndrwrthg — one of your best!

There was another barracuda, right? The Muerte Plants appear to be an old school Death Trap but may take too long too consume someone. A barracuda pool on the other hand could take care of a rat very quickly.
