@orinoco womble: Yes, today’s strip does sound a lot like this comment forum. Some people come here seeking harmony. Some people come here seeking division. Some people come here seeking humor. Some people come here seeking insight. Some people come here seeking brevity. So, here is a comment on today’s strip that is designed to satisfy all of those people, using only 14 words:“Bill Watterson is teaching us how to get along with each other, you fools!”
@neatslob: Sometimes Calvin is planted in the dirt after his wagon flies off a cliff. Unfortunately, sometimes people who fall off the wagon can end up planted in the dirt permanently.Let’s see……. brevity, insight, and humor…… three out of five.Gotta work on that harmony and division.
@Vonne Anton: Well, you thanked BluePumpkin for some kind words. Hopefully you’ll share some of them with the rest of us in the future. (Oh boy, here we go again……)
If anyone seriously makes life changing decisions based on a comic strip from a couple decades ago, they are taking advice from people they don’t know, and who’s advice and opinions are derived from human perspectives; near sighted at best.
I am aware we are in a phase of hero worship currently with the Olympics taking place, but after the fortnight is over, it will be life as we know it. There is plenty of hero worship here, day to day, if that’s what one likes. My take on it; it’s more of worshiping the creation, rather than the Creator. If one thinks the abilities these athletes have perfected came from evolution, it’s sad. I would rather admire the one used to create these abilities than elevate humans to godlike status, regardless of where they are found. I’d also prefer his advice for life. Please, before you go off, don’t ignore the first four words of this paragraph.

Calvin’s been reading the comments…considering the age of these strips, his foreshadowing is eerie.

The world needs more rudeness and disrespect. It’s nice to see the younger generation carrying on the tradition (the little miscreants).

Susie has planted Calvin head-first in the snow on a few occasions, but I think Hobbes is the only one to do it in plain dirt.

@Vonne Anton: Don’t feel bad. You can still be the first one today to elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills.
