Besides, at the rate comic book heroes/heroines are coming out, the question will soon be not who is, but who’s not…

It’s always fun to have one on a character like Dudley.Unexpected plot twists are always cool, imo.

It seems to me, and this is just my humble observation, that when people come out, it’s no big deal anymore.

Maybe I’m looking to hard into this but I’m trying to see exactly what Karma means. I know she thinks it’s cool but in the grand scheme of things, how does this fit in.

I thought of that possibility, but it would explain neither Sir Dudley’s shocked reaction nor Karma’s apparent delight at the revelation. No, I think Lady Janine was just very subtly telling Sir Dudley and everyone else that she is gay (and @Sisyphos, now you know what gay men like me go through when OUR heartthrobs are revealed to be straight and married with kids and maybe even a dog!)

By the way, I love Boody’s confused expression; evidently, he’s still trying to figure out the connection. Who’s going to be the one to explain it to him? :-)

Maybe I’m missing something, but she just said there was a Maid Marian. She didn’t say there was any connection between them. Why does every cartoon character have to be gay?

It seems that Sir Dudley jumped to his own conclusions. What does that say about him?

I am a happily hetero married for many many years to a wonderful woman – but it doesn’t stop me from yanking on someone’s leg every now and again just to see them fall over backwards. Tee hee – love the strip.

I agree with serenasakitty. Justin could’ve been leading us on. Maid Marian could be her sister, a heterosexual friend, even a guy in drag or someone who is disabled. Janine did not say she was gay. She simply said that there was a Maid Marian. The subject is wide open to any number of possibilities.

What gets me is that these people should be making a getaway, but they’re just sitting around yakking. Run now, deconstruct later.

NOWHERE was it stated that Lady Janine or MISS Robin Hood had a fling with Lady Marian (although subtly implied) . However, Mr. Robin Hood, as depicted by the male writer, so indicated in his stories.

Rather than Occam’s Razor, apply the KISS principle.

Janine recognized Sir Dudley as the same sort of narrow-minded gender bigot she has to deal with all the time.She decided to mess with his pea-sized brain.Karma thinks it is too cool that Janine can get such a dramatic response by using nothing but a wink and tone of voice.Robin is familiar with Janine’s sense of humor and just smiles.Boody and the Grail are confused.
