    In exit polls, no one ever owns up to voting informal.

    treesareus, ID is required to vote in Texas — where do you live?.You’re right, zoidknight. Electronic voting machine software can have a coding error, or be hacked, creating a fraud that can’t be detected. That’s why there’s a pushback in favor of paper ballots.

    I suspect the biggest is non legal residents voting, however electronic voting would be nice if when they cleared a machine it would email everyone their votes, that way they can verify it.

    In my state last election two machines were left unattended for a few hours and because of that they had to be hauled off and replacements came in, it delayed voting in that area for along time.

    There’s a quote:“i don’t care who votes i care who counts the votes”I recall that being attributed to a political boss in the early 19th century, but I can’t find a solid reliable reference. (I even found one attributing it to Stalin, which is ridiculous because he never once stood for election).Does anybody know who really uttered that phrase?

    When big rough-looking men are standing outside the polls, the exit-polls will be ‘tilted’.

    “Vote Early and Vote Often.”

    — Chicago election day motto.

    ++++

    “My uncle used to live in Chicago. He always voted Republican before his death, and always voted Democrat since.”
