Crazy Ed knows as much about metric measurement as he does ordnance. A 30 mm morter (sic) would be something small enough for an infatnryman to carry. It would be a short tube 1-3/16 inches wide.
That’s more 30 cm than 30 mm; but Americans make a ludicrous mess of the metric system in any case. I’ve seen them talk of ,9mm and .122mm weaponry – and the latter was in a book of military history!
Mortars wouldn’t help with tailgaters. It would shoot over them and hit the vehicles behind them. An earlier comment about a Gatling gun would be much more effective. That in 30 MM (like on a A-10) would be extremely effectve against tailgaters. :)
Yeah, a siege mortar is more likely to be 30 cm than 30 mm. That said, I would LOVE to have a weapon tube of any size on the back of my vehicle to scare off tailgaters. I really hate when they follow so close.
I have to wonder if that coach is self-propelled? No traces (or whatever the wooden thing is called they hitch the animal to) and no place for a driver. Was there a Patton ancestor living in Id?
I want a paint-ball gun installed in my car in the front for marking crazily driven autos. And a gun in the rear for the tailgaters. The color of the paint would be yellow to let other drivers know that the marked cars are a ‘caution’. (that’s a regional slang term).
Yeah, yeah. I used to be able to talk specs in metrics but now I just want it where I can use it if I need it, and feed it…if it feels right in my hand it’ll do fine…now, what’s the situation? and yeah, I’ve thought about 20mm for front and rear lights…at night for highbeamers…and daytime, tailgators…
I hate tailgaters, especially when I can’t go any faster anyway because someone’s driving right ahead of me. Or when I’m driving through an area that’s usually a speed trap.

30cm would be very much of a mortar – 30mm not so much.. Good as the idea probably were, knowing metric system could had helped to deliver it. :p

A Sherman would have a very nice edge on the Houston highways. I’d have to think I’d feel safer in one too.

The best way to get rid of a tailgater is to MOVE. Preferably to another lane, to the right here in ’Merica.

We did in Vietnam. Mounted .50 cal in the back of a 3/4ton truck (that’s what the Army called a pickup back then.) Worked!
