Transcript:
Rat: I've concluded that I"m not very arrogant. Goat: How'd you reach that conclusion? Rat: By using my ginormous brain. Goat: Never mind. Rat: I'd be a lot more humble if I had a reason to be.
You know Mr. Pastis, that would make a great T-shirt or coffee mug! I know you can get the whole comic on a T or a mug, but I think I would like it if it just had a close up of Rat with the quote in large print. I would buy it!
Maybe if you don’t produce one, I will put that quote on my own shirt (private use of course, not sell).
At least give it a thought, Mr Pastis, I think that is gold.
Note that Goat turns his stool around to escape Rat’s ratness, whereupon Rat turns his around too, to continue the conversation and to help Stephan inject some variety into the visuals.
I’ve got a friend like this. Never worked on a political campaign, but he KNOWS…! got shafted a couple of times by the corporate big boys, and now…! he’s a libertarian.
Really a smart guy…but a little sadistic. Lives with a dog (a great dog) in luxury and lonely grandeur.
The guys that stepped on him left a ‘print’ and he’s formed himself LIKE them…which is why the Israelis have such a great tank Korps. Some people react to life that way, become like their oppressors.
Rat reminds me of the guy who thought he was developing an inferiority complex because he was starting to believe that there were people who were almost as good as he was.
Reminds me of the religious who were getting together for dinner, and they got to talking about what their respective orders were known for. The Jesuit mentioned how proud they were of their obedience to the Pope, the Dominican talked about their great learning and scholarship. The Franciscan pointed to their pride in their poverty and their service to the poor. And the Benedictine chimed in about how proud the monks were of their humility.
+++++
But really, Rat is humble and not arrogant. He’s just being honest about his genius. </sarcasm>

I find it ironic that Goat obviously has the bigger brain.
What this world needs is more humble geniuses – there are so few of us left.

Typical, arrogant, Rat. Gotta come up with an excuse to make himself seem more humble and only further prove his own arrogance.

I wonder how big Rat brains really are? There’s a reason why they are used in animal testing.
