I am soooo glad that Joy only watches TV because she’s just bored. God knows she shouldn’t have to think about something! Or read. Or converse. And Burl wouldn’t mind at all if you changed the channel away from the test pattern he’d currently watching. It’s not that interesting anyway. You know that test docs do when they stick you with a pin to see if you are alive and sentient? The Pennys would both fail. All anyone would find is a penny 2" in diameter in Burl’s pocket.
I remember when we got our first tv in 1959, we would leave it on when it was just showing the test pattern. But we were children and it was TELEVISION, after all. What’s Burl’s excuse?
The only thing not mentioned (besides the cat) is the use yet again of Chance, the gardener’s line. If they are watching a test parrern, they don’t have any but the original network and local channels that we had when children.
Ya know, since you mentioned it, the test pattern is one of the best programs on these days. I only watch educational shows, like westerns and old black and white movies.
whoa! knobs on a genuine box tv with a vcr on top. wife refuses to get rid of 30" crt magnvox…it does have gorgeous sound, and the vcr (you know, that tape thingy that you can record with for Free) works just fine with it.
