Ah. The “Malignant Munchkin” is back.Guess it won’t be long before he breaks the news to Tiff that NONE of Her scene are IN His Tawdry film.

On the other hand I wonder the little cockroach is gonna finally come clean about the cheapo engagement ring he bought Luann a few years back?

Is Tiff actually IN the movie? Is she even in the credits? Even the “Best Boy” gets in the credits. And all he does is “go-for” work.

I still think Tiffany should experience Leslie Knox with the intense pursuit he used on Rosa. Can’t help but wonder how Tiff would react – delight? disgust? ambivalence? And what would Crystal have to say? Seems like an interesting one-week sequence, about like Crystal and Knute on occasion.

It’s great that Tiff isn’t only about boys, but has a real interest in her career too. That’s very healthy. Crystal wouldn’t be getting whiplash if she’d stop judging Tiff and would just be her friend for real.

Lance: Hardly. We lost one of the best singing voice dubbers in the business because the studios refused to give her credit. In France, the credit is the same size as the costars and come right after the credits for those they are dubbing (before the costars if only the stars are being dubbed). Best Boy is union and therefore has bargaining power. I hate to think what some would have sounded like without Marnie Nixon. Audrey Hepburn was good in Wouldn’t be Loverly (after all, she sang Moon River by herself), totally lacked the fire required for Show Me.

I imagine a best boy could be a best girl if he were a girl or if she were a girl. On the other hand, feminists a few years back were highly offended by being called “girls” around the same time others had decided they didn’t really appreciate being called “boy”. Life is SO hard on us sensitive types, trying to find inoffensive words and failing no matter what we do because SOME group will be offended with whatever we choose.-This is why we create euphemisms. It takes a little while for the perpetually offended to realize they are supposed to be offended by the euphemism too. In the mean time, we can talk — after a manner.-I was watching the final episode of EUREKA last night and Sheriff Carter asked, “Aren’t you the dog catcher”-To which the dog catcher responded, “I am the biological specimen containment specialist.” or something like that.-That was a fun show.

So I guess she’s not allowed to feel sad, and then be cheered up by good news? If it was Luann being excited about taking part in a film instead of Tiffany, would you people be reacting the same way?

I think her joy will be short lived though…remember she really only got to be a go-fer, and had a verrry small part as a stand-in for a double…or some such thing…that is going to be raw…even for Tif…

I had a bad dream that somebody posted THIS nonsense:“Finally!Elwood’s back!I hope he brought, his bodyguard, Clyde with him.Clyde’s my favorite character. He’s the only Luann character named after a former poster here. That’s quite an honor.I hope this will be a long storyline with lots of Tiffany in it.”

Rosa could take Knute...All bad choices, Leviticus, but Rosa, with several languages and other smarts, is never going to go there. BTW, a commentator on another gocomics strip complained that Rosa was a stereotyped Latina, which was a very surprising thought about someone who is not typical of anything.

Crystal, Delta, and Bernice as pretty level-headed, but Tiffany doesn’t have a clue what a friend she has in Crystal, while I think Luann knows how lucky she is to have both Bernice and Delta.

Mojitobaby: I don’t recall any play called “Show Me” either. With something that familiar, I presumed the readers would know the musical (the play was called Pygmalion and was by GB Shaw). Apparently either you didn’t know, or were trying to troll me, neither one a suitable use of posting space.

Dave53: “Show Me” has also been shown and there is no fire. It is an angry song. “I Could Have Danced All Night” is another in which Hepburn did a credible job. Those three are the only ones I have heard.

Ow, no. While I adore Hepburn, listening to her do a Cockhey accent for a large part of the film was positively painful – and hearing her try to do it in song was worse. I grew up listening to Julie Andrews, who created the role, in the Broadway cast recording, so I consider it an act of mercy that the producers didn’t let her wail warble her way through the film. “Luverly” doesn’t call for much in the way of range, but the rest of the numbers do. .They didn’t have to dub Rex Harrison – although he couldn’t sing, the original musical was built around his ability to use sprechstimme, or talking on pitch. And, of course, he had no trouble with an upper-class British accent..I have three favorites: Sabrina, A Nun’s Story and How To Steal A Million (and not just because it centers around art forgery and a heist).
