Got me! I try not to follow the fads, they are always disproved about two years down the road.

Just another in the rising number of allergies. Basically, our generation was indestructible but no one thought to pass that on to the next generation.

My mother had a genetic condition known as celiac sprue, far more than gluten intolerance or wheat intolerance. I hold the theory that genetic manipulation of wheat done during the WWII years did more harm than good to the wheat itself and increased our intolerance to wheat proteins. However, my mom inherited her problem, well before wheat was altered.

I eat (and drink) everything that I enjoy although I DO avoid fast food and I buy good artisan bread, and may again bake some in our winter (not with temps over 100 every day).

If you find yourself with bad tummy aches and other symtoms and the Dr. finds you gluten intolerant , you will start to feel better without it. Gluten free food usually costs about 3X the cost of regular food. I paid about $6.00 for rice bread. It’s good and heavy but the cost is out of line!
