In a situation like your wife’s, there should be one doctor who is the quarterback. Somebody has to look out for the patient. Here is hoping your wife gets the care she deserve and has a quick and complete recovery.

Sorry to hear about your wife. I don’t know if the new laws will help there. Sounds like you have some good advise given here. Good luck with things. Sucks :/ The new laws will at least help people get & have insurance instead of using tax payers dollars in already swamped emergency rooms. Heck, when I was unemployed I was denied emergency only insurance because I have migraines (I was in my 30’s don’t smoke I am a proper weight and I work out. But apparently my migraines are going to put my in ICU)

    Ahahahahaaaa! Love that last panel.

@jimbokleinI hope your wife is better soon…and that they won’t soak you for every penny for her hospital bills.

As for the health care bill, I think it will ultimately be a good thing. When something is made federally mandatory, it means that the insurance companies have to come up with programs that are affordable and that don’t exclude the people who actually need care.

It is insane that we don’t have universal health care, let alone that it’s harder for people who are chronically ill to get affordable care than it is for people while they’re perfectly healthy. What is that all about?

I’ve experienced national health care in two different countries. Those systems aren’t perfect, but they are a hundred times better than what laughably passes for health care in the U.S. I firmly believe that the only reason we don’t have universal health care, already, is because most people in the U.S. never leave the country and haven’t the least clue what universal health care is like. So, they put up with health care on the level of developing countries, thinking it’s the greatest in the world, just because a tiny fraction of the population can buy whatever latest medical breakthrough is out there.

it hasn’t been a good week for the gop or fox news. struck down the stolen valor act, fox news reporter lied being nominated for the Pulitzer, upheld the aca, struck down the key provision of the az immigration law, fox news jumped the gun when declaring the aca decision, and fox news parent company is splitting into 2, 1 for entertainment and 1 for publishing. will fox news be part of the entertainment or publishing? if entertainment, then they are not journalists.

Not soon enough! I got turned down, again, for health insurance due to a preexisting condition (7yrs ago). My coverage ends next month and I’m having a hard time finding new coverage. We needed reform years ago!

I’m getting a good laugh at how fast the lunatic fringe right has turned against Chief Justice Roberts.

Luckily, not all of us are that nuts, LOL>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Are you kidding ? Have you read some of the posts from certain commentators over the past few weeks ? Come to think of it, I know I’m crazy. I read all these strips and post comments just as inane as the rest. :) LOL

Any theories about Chief Justice Roberts? I was totally taken by surprise. Nobody ever deviates from established party doctrine set down by Luntz, Rove and Limbaugh. Roberts’ defection is inexplicable . . .

A doc told me recently that in a seminar on profit he was told not to spend more than three minutes with a patient. But the bills show charges of hundreds of dollars per minute.

Interesting that you attribute a long line of statements he never made. What are you, a program director for Fox?

Thank you for the info but your comment should be directed to Jimboklein. It is his wife, not mine, who is in the hospital.

They never threaten to move to Mexico, do they? They have an even better system you only pay a few hundred for and get EVERYTHING. Our seniors are already going there to get it. Another reason to keep that wall down. ; )
