Google “Defenestration(s) of Prague”.

If I remember correctly, throwing the diplomats out the window (in French window is “fenetre”) in Prague caused the start of the 30-years- war. Something to do with the Winter King (Frederick V, son-in-law of James VI-I of Britain and grandfather of George I – also grandson of William the Silent). He was the king of Bohemia and they said he wouldn’t be king for more than a winter, hence he was called “the Winter King.” The war, fought between Protestants and Catholics was bloody and killed off a sizable percentage of the population of Germany
