I’m glad Burl and Jerry have found a video they like that stimulates their brains. And that Burl can follow the story line. I was beginning to worry.
BTW, I have discovered a new and painless weight loss plan. I read that while the human brain only accounts for approx 2% of our total weight, it requires about 20% of our energy. Ergo, the weight loss plan! Crossword puzzles, Sudoku, reading, watching Charlie Rose and listening to the TED Hour. Long, stimulating conversations. Reading about Quantum Mechanics. Whaddaya think?
Oh, and thanks Dave H, for inquiring about me yesterday.
Just busy…. should settle down soon.
And 2old2readcomics (which I hope is never true!) ….yeah, the Brain Bleach business is booming!
We have to order jars by the gross and gallon bottles by the case from a wholesaler…Crust Foods would be stripped clean…and of course we’re trying to keep the price down for our loyal customers.
Am I the only one that noticed today? They are watching a DVD, looks like they stepped out of the 80’s.
Good to see you back, Susan, I am not on as often myself, or when I am it is so late there are 20+ comments. I rarely leave one withen there are that many already. Two main reasons. It probably won’t get read if it is at the bottom of a long thread of comments. Boredom sets in and people begin to skim, unless they are coming back to look fro comments to their earlier comments. Second reason, What I had to say is already said by someone else. Sometimes that happens when there are just three comments already up there.
Funny, I seem to have less leisure time since my job was outsourced than I did while I was working..Which BTW I am still job hunting.
mikie – Love it – I was doing all of those, but hadn’t heard of TED hour. I am listening to a program now. Thank you so much!DAZZ – Your happiness is infectious. Cheers!
Mikie — Your comment didn’t show up for me last night when I was posting!
I sure hope your plan works.I’m already addicted to cryptic crosswords, which can be not only difficult, but difficult to find in this country (the US)… so far I’m definitely not skinny, but now that I know the exercise benefits, I’ll keep it up instead of chastising myself over lost time.
As long as I don’t have to listen to Charlie Rose, or at least some of his droning guests…I’m fine with the program…Well, I’m a little impatient with any lectures, even the Ted hour….can I substitute more Sudoku?Or will that make me bulk out?
I for one, and some others, I’m sure, read EVERY comment…
I try to read the old ones right before the new strip comes out, but if I miss that moment, I still read yesterday’s forum before posting on the new one.
On Dinette Set I do that even if I didn’t post there, though not on all the 40 or so comics I read. It’s true, I only check back on many of them if I posted, or if I think the discussion should be interesting….but in Crustwood I read everything.
And there’s always SOMEthing to say…. of course, I’m a certified chatterbox.
Gymshoe — me too, though I sometimes read through a month or so of archives.
As for drive-ins, we lost all of ours by the early 80’s.Most to housing developments, but one in a prominent and still empty spot along the freeway had turned to porn to stay in business, and occasionally a peek through the trees at the right…or wrong…. moment was…um…. well…. informative.
@Annybody- thanks! very happy to hear that!@Dave- sorry to hear about the work. I was thinking of applying at my old place in Evanston (they said when I left that I could always come back) but I doubt that holds true after 14 years ;-) I was thinking of something for a while now even tho’ I HATE Chicago weather. If I went back, I’d want a “pie de terre” just as I suggested for him here.

Yup…. Burl can follow deleted scenes…he’s not much of a straight-line thinker anyhow.
Clueless is right.
I have questions too:
Now, are these deleted scenes from that movie… or is this that illicit video Dale bought on eBay?
“One less brick to worry about…”Is that the one brick that Burl is short of a load?
And….. I hate to say it…. but this looks too familiar. Is it a re-run from the last year or so?
Meanwhile, Simpsonfan — yes, in a perfect world. Even filmmakers make mistakes and reconsider some decisions…. don’t you?

Just occurred to me. When I bought a 6 pack picked up my GF and went to the drive in did the girl actually think we were going o watch a movie?
