My mom was the wallpaper queen 40 years ago – papered every room in the house. Did a good job.My hubby & I papered our first house 30 years ago, and it was nice. However, wallpaper has now gone the way of the dodo – out of style big time. Stores don’t sell it any more.
Yes, back in the house where I lived over 30 years and changed styles completely at least twice in every room. I used the most difficult, naturally, a vinyl mettallic on upper walls and ceiling of one bathroom, and a heavy basket weave texture on the valence of the kitchen. I mostly paint murals and other faux finishes – easier and looks a LOT prettier!
No, no, no, no wallpaper! Wallpaper went out with the end of the twentieth century. If you want your home to be instantly “dated” go ahead and put up the wallpaper. It’s your house.

Ever hang wallpaper? How’d that go?

It didn’t. Go, that is. Paint is much better and faster….

Just don’t paint the wallpaper…

My parents did, but I decided never to go that route.

Hubby and I have hung a lot of paper. It works best if we do it alone – that cat likes to help. (He thinks!)

Most professional wallpaperers I’ve met are women. They must have a knack for it.
