She’s gone from wearing a tank-top/turtleneck combo to being dressed like a priest!

Tess’s comment in panel 2 makes no sense at any level.

One more panel of Maestro snarling and gnashing his teeth - and I’ll start to believe he’s about to take a large bite out of a Sam Catchem sandwich !

It’s a little trite now - Locher has made his point. Imagine, this is the 24th such depiction in 5 weeks

The “over-production” is blocking progress. Time to release the space to provide some action.

“So composed.” Oh, ha ha! I get it. By the time Dick gets there, he may be decomposed. That would move the story line along a bit.

Phil Harmonic is one of the ugliest creatures I’ve ever seen.

So he’s gonna KILL his kid over a violin. Brilliant. Phil looks like Imus on steroids. Could that be Roid Rage in Panel 3?

BTW - Carlo is correct. 5 Weeks of Nothing worth squat.

Panel 3: Could be ‘roid rage, but maybe more of the “hemmer” than “steer” variety…

To me he still looks like he’s wearing a chef’s hat. What’s cookin’, Phil?

    That’s the style these days.

I shoulda known Locher would be back with the puns. Someone must have told him he was a punmeister - and he believed it.

So composed, yes. He “conducts” himself so well. He leads a well “orchestrated” life. He knows the “score”. He takes “notes”.

Well, Idarke just ruined all the humor for January.

    And probably February.

Well Locher must have anticipated these “comments”. Envious of all the attention Jay Maeder is getting over at Annie with SUSPENSE on what’s in that Underground Bunker, Dick’s coming up with his own mini “twist” to raise expectations ;)

By mid-January we’ll see it. Part of the build up is one hell of a stretch (a Locher “leap”over reality). Anticipation will be there, but this is a “half time” Dick Locher, and my “gut” tells me the “effort” will fall flat.

Has it really been five weeks already? I think DT is warping my sense of time; coulda sworn this story arc just began like, a week ago.

Hey, I know what’s going on: This strip is so good, that when you read it, you don’t even notice the time passing!

Hey Pops! Don’t kill Junior until you a) find the money, or b) find the Strad, Telly’s not likely to give it up - especially since it’s wired to a 2500 watt amp with strobes.

    idclark,

After that quality text, don’t be surprised if you get an INVITE from Naperville to join the DL-Team to further “enhance” Locher’s “idea” of what resounds well in Dick Tracy.

Matty wiil be jealous, he’d give a “litte finger” to get such a wire ;)

The problem with the “composed” pun in panel 2 is that Phil is a conductor. That doesn’t necessarily mean he is also a composer.
