GT attacks for-profit schools, yet he ignores the corruption that thrives at non-profit schools. At Harvard, Elizabeth Warren, a GT favorite, got a professorship by saying she was a Cherokee when her actual ancestor was a militia member who took part in driving Cherokees along the Trail of Tears. Warren says the wife of that militia member was a Cherokee but in fact she wasn’t — she was of European descent. Today’s Cherokees have tried to meet with Warren — she refuses. In sum, she’s stolen a professorship that could have gone to a true native American. What’s more, Harvard pays her a fat salary to teach just one course. Warren says she’s paid for her hard work, but that anybody else who earns good money doesn’t deserve it — she says all successful people except her owe their good fortune to the government.

Is Zip too young to be served in a bar? Or is this a private Walden bar? Even a private bar attached to Pres. King’s office — as private presidential toilets are — intended for his private self and his private guests only? If so, did Zip crash in?

i’m not so sure that Elizabeth Warren got a professorship just because she claimed she was a Cherokee. There are other factors which qualify her. Also, many who are blonde and blue eyed have some American Indian in their background. It is not unheard of, just because you are mostly of European descent.

The Republicans have a habit of overestimating the popularity of their extremist ideas. This is why we see candidates such as Palin, Ryan and others. They are so clueless as to downplay the only thing that Romney has going for him, his Massachusetts health care plan. Since someone had the audacity to tell the truth about his health care plan the other day they are all in a tizzy.

I am going to post a quote, rather long but worth reading. I have ( for reason of relative brevity ) edited it. For a complete version go the the Orlando Sentinel, this comes from Charlie Reese’s last column before retiring:A very interesting column.. COMPLETELY NEUTRAL

545 vs. 300,000,000 People-By Charlie ReesePoliticians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does. You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does. You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does. You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does. One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country….I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes. Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red.If the Army & Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it’s because they want them in Iraq and Afghanistan …If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way. There are no insoluble government problems.Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees…

Things have gotten pretty complicated in the US Congress in recent years due to the fact that the Congress is fairly evenly divided, particularly in the US Senate. In the Senate, to stop a filibuster, Senate rules require a 3/5 supermajority, or at least 60 votes. This has been difficult considering that even when the Democrats have 60 votes, many of them are “blue dogs.” who can’t be counted on. The math is the math.

I am all for voting. In fact, that is why I am so disturbed by the latest voter suppression effort. Both parties should want as many voters as possible to get out and vote, however it falls and whoever wins in the end. The only true voter fraud situation I have seen lately has been the one in Michigan involving Thaddeus McCotter who resigned recently, who was renounced by the Michigan attorney general, who is a Republican. In this scandal, members of McCotter’s staff apparently engaged in vote tampering.

I thought you gave up on this racist nonsense. Ryan’s positions are known to people who follow such things. The general public? Not so much. When they hear what Ryan stands for, they aren’t going to like it.Ryan is so far right, that no one outside the Tea Party will believe his “deficit buster” act. His agenda of privatizing Medicare, cutting taxes on the wealthy and increasing the burden on the working class is pure political poison.Ryan’s wonkish persona is not going to create any enthusiasm for the Romney campaign. Romney just handed Obama the election.

Ryan favors privatizing education (the ’toon), and everything else. The real problem is his ethics are based on impregnating his mother, and the rest of the population, then going all “pro-life”, by denying any benefits that might SAVE lives, like Medicare, Medicaid, Single Payer, “Affordable Health Care ACT”, and he’s voted for every war he’s had a chance on, and will vote for more (or go behind the scenes to start some.)

I’m surprised at you for supporting someone who is an admitted traitor to his oath of office! He knelt on bended knee before Mad King Grover of Norquist and swore to never raise taxes under any circumstances regardless of the needs of the country. An oath sworn to an enemy of the United States who is actively working to make it so weak that he can “drag it into the bathroom and drown it in the bathtub”. An oath sworn to a man who admitted that he dreamed (wet?) of the No-tax pledge oath at 12 years of age. This is your savior? For shame…

That is much better than having an Unconstitutional Usurper in the White House.

So much for philosophical honesty, I guess…

The fact remains that lowering taxes increases revenue to the Government.

And there goes intellectual honesty, as well! Seriously? You do know the government compiles data on revenues and taxes (among other things) right? You could just look that up on the CBO’s website and immediately realize that’s not true. Bush’s tax cuts for the rich caused revenues to plummet while at the same time expenditures skyrocketed.

Sorry, got to dump on it a little bit, but at least it’s near the end.

Guard, no one is trying to rob you of your free speech, but we ARE trying to explain to you that your posts here are worthless. Most of us have more education than you, and none of us are EVER going to be swayed by your comments, each and every one of which follows a very narrow and extreme philosophy. You know there are places where people would be glad to hear what you have to say, but THIS ISN’T IT.

And yes, I find something disturbing about someone who constantly seeks rejection instead of acceptance.

I actually took the time to look up some of the references you posted, and they were worthless, also. The WND you think so highly of is known to the wider world as the “World Nut Daily.” They cater to an audience who don’t want real news, but just want to have their preconceived notions validated. Namely, you. You should try their comment section, where you won’t be just a pain in the ___but can have actual conversations, with other extremists.

As for your claim to “always post the truth”, what about this?“The fact remains that lowering taxes increases revenue to the Government. It works every time it is tried."

    Total federal income tax revenue, from IRS data, in billions:1999: $8772000: $9812001: $888 (Bush tax cuts)2002: $7972003: $7482004 $832…….2009: $86

The clear evidence proves you wrong. You’re trying to quote one of Laffer’s theories, but missing a lot of details an subtlety. Under certain circumstances, tax cuts can generate revenue, but if you actually have studied the matter, you should know that the function is a curve, not a straight line, thus there is an optimum value below which revenue falls instead of increasing. Practical experience has shown that point to be much higher than the 33% to 39% rates that are in question now.

DT has time and again posted truly original comments, and displayed a willingness to communicate and engage other posters in positive ways. You, on the other hand, simply regurgitate the latest junk from WND and other extremist rags in a place where it is totally unwanted.

The “Destroy the Pyramids” hoax is a perfect example. The original tweet came from an account plainly labeled as an “official parody account.” Egypt is not Afghanistan, and the Muslim Brotherhood is not the Taliban. Egypt is far more modern and prosperous, with , higher levels of education, and a large part of the population who are not devout Muslims. Morsi plans to appoint a Coptic Christian and a woman to the posts just below him, obviously a sign that he knows he needs the support of those outside the Brotherhood if the country is to move forward. He would never allow the destruction of the greatest tourist attraction in the Middle East. If we can’t convince you to leave us alone, that means you’ll be here to eat crow when Morsi clears this up. I’ll be waiting.
