This is the first comic strip I’ve read online, but I’ve a question to you fans.
I’ve read Calvin and Hobbes books before, so am I correct in saying that these are reruns? ( I don’t know much about Billl Waterson, so don’t blame me if I sound…y’know)
Meanwhile at Stately Wayne Manor, millionaire Bruce Wayne who is secretly Batman … is going through his taxes before the Evil Tax Man comes calling…ROBIN: Holy Dollar Bills, Batman! You sure have a lot of money!BATMAN: That’s right, chum.ROBIN: Can I have a raise in my allowance?BATMAN: No time for that now, Robin! We have to stop the Evil Tax Man!
i would like to see in comics where avengers or the xmen or jla go after big oil, garment industry who subcontract out the work to 3rd world places, big banks, fast food industry, defense contractors, conservative billionaires, and ozzie murdock.
I remember reading in The Planet Construction Kit by Mark Rosenfelder that extraordinary heroes are expected to be faced with extraordinary problems. Sure, he can do what Hobbes suggests, but what makes him a superhero then?
superheroes DO take out ordinary criminals like muggers and drug dealers, it’s just that they’re usually in a throwaway panel at the beginning or end of the book.
I wonder if they are the trouble makers. There were not these super criminals before they came so why are they here now. I mean before superman these people could have ruled the earth but they did not come till superman was there to defeat them hum???
Eh? So-called liberal fat cats who are better than you and me and know what is best for us; along with the dynasty 4th raters. All of the men who know what is best for them in regard to women; especially Euro and Islamic types. Targets.
It’s mentioned in “Watchmen” (the graphic novel, anyway) that with the rise in costumed heroes, more and more crooks turned to subtler crimes like money laundering. You can’t really hunt down and beat up those guys.

Is Hobbes reacting seriously here or sarcastically?

Can Calvin do this? With his qualification in school?

Basically, Watterson said what he had to say, so he stopped talking. Gotta admire that, in this day and age.
