The buffet tables are the only place you’ll come out ahead in Atlantic City.

Indian casinos are red mens’ revenge for whitemens’ treachery. As one chief said (can’t remember his name)-he was correct, by the way-the only promise white men ever kept was to take their land, and they did.

We need you to weigh in on this subject and perhaps help us out with the name of the chief who made this statement. He hit the nail on the head.

Atlantic City is like Las Vegas, a gambler’s haven, though on a smaller scale.

Many thanks, my friend for the complete quote.Am not Native American (the REAL Americans), but truly mean what was said about wishing that the white men had adopted their ways. They have my greatest respect. And have also read of the sacred nature of the pipe smoke to the natives. It rose to the Great Spirit. So admire their spiritual nature. The peace pipe had great significance and was sincerely offered to whites. Sadly , the whites did not have the same sense of honor.Hate to take up too much space in my post, but must speak of some white men who also believe in living in peace.Years ago, lived in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and , while traveling route 222 between Lancaster and Reading, used to see the Amish right next to the highway plowing their fields with teams of horses and wonder who was better off. Was no doubt in my mind. They were. They were, like Natives, used to living close to nature and their conception of the Great Spirit.(In peace). From what is known to me of Quakers, believe it is accurate to say that they have no preacher, the entire congregation remaining silent in meditation until someone feels the spirit of the divine and speaks out. They are absolutely opposed to war.You spoke of greed. (selfshness). Absolutely. An amazing white man from Kentucky, Edgar Cayce, gave in a reading words to this effect:“The basic sin is self. Everything else(pain, suffering) is a manifestation of this”. Have taken up a lot of space here, and gone far afield of the spirit of comic strips, but needed to respond to your great post. Many thanks..

One last thing not addressed.Must take exception to “greed and cruelty unsurpassed by the animal”.Have had dogs in my life who have also been my great teachers, and they have shown great nobility of spirit. Most animals lead exemplary lives, in peace. Also love reading of Natives praying to the Great Spirit for forgiveness for taking the life of their brother, the buffalo, needed to maintain their lives and am astounded by the beauty of this. Inspirational beyond belief. Believe, as you that there is spirit in all things, even rocks, part of the manifestation of the Spirit in physicality. We are all ONE.Thank you for the name of Luther Standing Bear. Peace.
