An object at rest will remain at rest until acted upon by an exterior force. If the table is put on the ground, it is going to stay there (“weighing” less than on earth) but staying there nonetheless.
H.G. Wells, in First Men In The Moon, showed a greater understanding of the effects of gravity in space than people who have lived to have seen its effects (on TV at least).
The moon is a vacuum, so there would be some “expulsion” of the paint if there were any air in the paint container when it was uncapped, wouldn’t there?

Actually, the paint would freeze only if it’s in the shadow. Under the sun, it would boil!
