@cubefarmer & @win: I used to be a DITW NDP supporter (you in the States would say extreme left) but not since their worshipping at the shrine of the Carbon Tax. Glad to see there’s a few others out there who think for themselves. BTW, the sun isn’t going to go nova….check out www.thesurfaceofthesun.com if you like challenges to the existing paradigm

There has been no global warming for the last fifteen years. What does that mean? If it’s hotter than usual, that’s global warming. If it’s colder than usual, that’s global warming. Wetter than usual, dryer than usual… Global warming. It’s the CO2 from the cars… No it’s the CFC’s in your spray can… no it’s Freon… No, it’s the hole in the ozone… we’re heading for an ice age… It’s global warming… they finally settled on climate change. The climate changes… Duh!! Al Gore said the oceans would rise three inches by now. We’re waiting.

IF CO2 was a pollutant (which it’s not) and IF CO2 caused global warming ( which it CAN’T) it would still be sneaky and coniving for multinational corporations to set up a system such as carbon tax and cap-and-trade whereby they can go on polluting and just buy credits. The whole system stinks and we (the minions) are all going to be the sufferers for it. The elites will have a field day.

I have a question for you- do you have a copy of Kyoto? Have you read it? If you did and you have any level of intelligence, you might have realised that Kyoto was not designed to save the planet- it was to guarantee economic sustainability for the robber barons.

Kyoto was one of the poorest-written documents I have ever read.

CO2 in the atmosphere is the ONLY source of carbon from which green plants can make plant fiber to grow! Didn’t you EVER hear of photosynthesis????If it weren’t for CO2 in the atmosphere, there wouldn’t be, and never would have been, ANY green plants at all!!!EVERY BIT of wood that has EVER existed came from the carbon atoms in the CO2 in the atmosphere via photosynthesis!!!If it weren’t for green plants LONG before MAN ever evolved, there would be NO free oxygen in the atmosphere for air breathing animal life to exist!!CO2 is NOT a pollutant, it’s PLANT FOOD!!!! In fact from the PLANT’S standpoint, there ISN’T ENOUGH CO2 in the atmosphere at the present time!!!

Seems to me he is poking fun at manmade global warming. If the guru in “B.C.” times saw the water rise to his mountaintop amidst no industry or huge human population, there was no manmade element to it, right?

Climactic change is cyclical, driven 90% by solar cycles. Man is still too puny to impact it much.

Thinking that this planet parasite can do any real damage to mother earth is giving yourself waaaaay to much credit.

It was my intent to just read the cartoon, but I thought I might interject some common sense. Large ships are now going through the Northwest Passage, half of the Greenland Ice Sheet that has lasted +400,000 year has disappeared over the past 30 years, and warm weather species are moving northward. An old farm boy will tell you it is getting warmer.

Now it is either by something we are doing or something that is out of our control. The former means it may be inconveinent and difficult to get out of the hole we have dug. The latter means we will see things get VERY bad and not be able to do a thing about it. Personally, I prefer something I can change, and if it is the latter that I at least tried.

Remember the media makes money and politicians get elected promoting controversy. Find out what is actually happening and use your common sense.

I laugh at all these ‘scientists’ who probably spent high school science class on extended smoke break behind the portable classrooms. They are the ‘experts’ now telling the scientists how wrong they are. “Wait! I have a ‘study’ that disproves climate change. No, wait! it disproves man-made climate change! No wait, it says that climate change is a good thing!”

I wish these ‘geniuses’ would stop playing Calvinball with the facts.

Actually a GREAT strip! It perfectly illustrates the absurdity of man “made global warming”.If their climate changed because of man made global warming, what changed it? No SUV’s. No factories… No nothing. Looks pretty NORMAL to me!@ pouncingtiger…..Um, can you tell me who died and left you or OwlGore in charge? And gave them/you the power to decide this current weather is perfect, and can NEVER, EVER change from it’s current form?It was global cooling, remember that? Now it’s global warming. Soon, it will be global cooling again. Look who is in denial.(here’s a tip for ya anyway, it’s MUCH easier to grow food for the world when it’s warm. But it’s pretty dang hard to grow food when there’s snow on the ground. You should be celebrating IF it’s getting warming (and it’s not, it’s actually cooled off ya know)). You libs just like to listen to yourself whine and cry.And what’s wrong with a carbon tax Night-Gaunt49 said…..I’ll tell you. It will destroy the economy, make people like nanski peloski and OwlGore even MORE rich than they are (because of “insider” trading) and will DO NOTHING for the climate. It will STILL change.See? That’s the part you haven’t gotten yet. The climate will ALWAYS change, you can’t do squat about it. Heck, we can’t even stop a simple storm! How are we going to change the entire climate!!!???You global warmer are just insane, you simply can not use any logic what so ever. So your comment about “logic” was very funny.

Many eons ago, when the dinosaurs were around, the whole earth was temperate. There was no ice, etc. With our short life span, we cannot decide that there is or is not “global warming”. We might be contributing to it, but don’t have a long enough time frame to judge the exact cause correctly.

The glaciers are disappearing. Polar bears are running out of ice. If we could really see into the future about 200 or so years, we might see quite a difference. Who knows what Florida will look like? Or low lying places like the Outer Banks in the Carolinas will still be around. The earth is getting warmer, but we won’t be around to argue about how it got that way.

So, who do you believe? Back in the 50s, scientests with the same credibility as those today screaming global warming were warning of a coming ice age!In the recent mid-west heat wave, we didn’t break any record highs (1936 set the standard for record heats) – but at the end of the heat wave, we set two record lows two days in a row!Not just matched, but beat by several degrees.Still, things are not as bad as a report from the 1800s when this area had a frost in mid-August, and then to add insult to injury, warmed back up into the 90s- the smell of rotting vegetation was unbearable according to some reports!
