I am probably expected to understand this. Rats. Too busy reading about hurricanes and abusive behaviors on different scales and levels. I’d apologize if I meant it.
I’m sure Mr. Trudeau is concerned about your criticisms, and worried about the effect on his long-term job security and personal wealth if you stopped reading his strip. Personally, I consider you boring. Don’t let the door hit you…
I’m another former “Joizee boy” disavowing Christie." Re: the serving of slop – the GOP has been serving it up for so long now, that, demographically, half the country doesn’t remember a time when it wasn’t the case.
I am sure the noises shown in the strip represent Christie’s intemperate nature. He doesn’t seem to be able to control his temper. One wonders if he can be long for this world, considering his weight and his temper. Pretty bad combination. He told Oprah he is ready to run in 2016. Shows that he doesn’t seem to think Reversible Mittens has much hope. One also wonders if he will make it to 2016. I know a lot of folks in the US are overweight, you just don’t see too many of them who are overweight anymore who are viable candidates for prez. They tend to all be runners and they may have an occasional beer for the camera, but they don’t seem to overindulge really.
Even in New Jersey, CC may have some strong competition soon. Cory Booker is rumored to want to be governor of New Jersey. Cory Booker is fairly popular as well, and he doesn’t have the same issues as CC, in terms of physical well being or having the extreme temper problems.
Local carpenters and iron worker have assured the RNC, the dais that Chris Christie is to speak on, in Tampa, has been specially reinforced to hold that human physical specimen, that most resembles the party symbol.
I have TONS of issues with CC, and I don’t even live in New Jersey. Teachers in NJ should have plenty to say about him from what I have heard in the past. It may be that he knows that he really can’t handle the presidency, given his physical condition. Lots of politicians have had tempers but with the combination of temper + obesity— I don’t know… Not in this day and age. It may sound like I am talking a lot about his weight, but it is really no small thing and it is reality.
I look for Ann Romney to “open up” about her miscarriages. I had the same experience, having had a child and the experience of miscarriages. I always thought folks were on a need to know basis about it. I am only mentioning now because it seems odd that it would be brought up by the campaign… Feel sorry for me? You shouldn’t. Miscarriages are experienced by millions of women. It is part of life. My mother even said that it is “God’s way” if things are not going along well as they should be in the pregnancy, which I guess is obvious.
Sounds like certain Republicans want another Katrina-esque disaster to hit New Orleans, just so they can say, “See Obama is just as inept as Bush!”Obama has already authorized FEMA to mobilize in the Gulf. Obama has called the Governors of the Gulf states to coordinate Federal resources they may need after the Isaac hits. Obama has made a statement telling people in the area to take the warnings seriously and follow any order of evacuation.I’m personally hoping Isaac turns out to be an overblown threat, but I expect the Federal, State and local governments will be much better prepared this time.
Liar. Bush was at a political ceremony in California the day after Katrina. Then he returned to his Texas ranch for a little R&R before heading back to Washington a few days later.Really, it doesn’t much matter where the President is in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. There is the ability to communicate and direct a response from anywhere the President happens to be. The Bush administration simply dropped the ball.
“My dad bought our first television for the sole purpose of watching the 1952 Democratic National Convemtion . . .”My dad got mad when he caught me listening to the ‘56 Democratic Convention on the radio. (He’d go to a friend’s house to watch Lawrence Welk on TV.) He died in ‘56 before the election, so to honor him I voted (for the first time, since I’d just turned 21) for Eisenhower. Many years later, Mom was lying in a nursing home bed, and she said, “You know, your dad always liked Adlai Stevenson.” I said “MOM-M-M! Why didn’t you tell me?!”
Michelle Obama has taken up what one would seem to be a noncontroversial cause— childhood obesity. Like all other first ladies, she has a pet project and that is hers. Unlike other first ladies, she has been vilified for doing so. As far as putting down people like Chris Christie for being obese, since he is an adult, he is certainly free to do whatever he wants to do. It is his funeral.
A man, “any Man,” that helps bring back New Jersey from the Brink of Financial Ruin, makes the Unions give a little back, and puts his State back on a Path to pride should be congratulated. Doesn’t matter if he’s a Democrat or Republican. I don’t like Obama’s, and I didn’t like Clinton’s, but it didn’t stop me from supporting them or any Governor of either party that did their jobs. We need a little less sniping on both sides, and a little more listening.
It’s interesting how a local troll found it necessary to emphasize the race of Obama’s opponents twice, even capitalizing the W in white. It’s clear what he considers to be important. Secondly, 112 rounds of golf (if it’s true) breaks down to about three rounds every two weeks. Do we really begrudge our President that meager amount of recreation? Lastly, his family hasn’t vacationed any more than have those of other Presidents. Pretty weak (and revealing) criticisms.
“You could vote for a rich, keynesian indo-kenyan with a jet-setting black wife and a senile moron who have put the country in the worst state it has been in since Jimmy Carter.”πHere are just 2 of the many mistakes you made in your post: • Bush II did NOT marry a black wife. • Bush II was NOT born in Kenya.
I wonder if the folks keeping tabs on Obama vacays are counting the family trips to Hawaii? As someone who has in-laws in Hawaii, I hope they are taking into account that Hawaii is where Obama’s sister happens to live… Hawaii may seem like a super exotic place and all that, but remember it is part of the US. There are pluses and minuses to a place like Hawaii, which is terribly far away from the rest of the country. Hawaii is a very special place and is certainly important to the Obamas, since he grew up there and his family still lives there. Whenever we go to Hawaii, we really don’t do a lot of touristy stuff, because it is a family trip. A little going to the beach, a lot of spending time with senior citizens who we happen to be related to.
Kelly Ayotte just said that President Obama “has never run so much as a lemonade stand.” Oh really? How about being the leader of the free world for the past 4 years?
According to FactCheck.org, Bush spent 5 times more just on his flights to his ranch in Crawford than Obama has on his family Christmas vacation. Not only did Bush spend more days on vacay than any other prez, but he used Air Force One more often than any other prez. Yet, Bush is held up as an example of being thrifty. Yes, Barack Obama has been president of the US for the past 4 years. If you think that is a joke, I think you have just slighted the United States of America.
“Barack can score a cheeseburger, at taxpayer expense ….”πIf he wins, Mitt the Brit’s $2499.99/plate steak din din at the Ritz (not counting sales tax and tip) will cost taxpayers more than 500 times more than Barack’s $4.95 cheeseburger at McDonald’s.
Why Mitt the Brit? Cuz, according to standard birther conspiratory thinkng, he was born in the UK and not in the US and is therefore UNCONSTITUTIONALLY running for President.
Bing, bing, bing, congratulations SkepticCal, debate is over and it looks like you have the final word, “Barack H. Obama is a natural born citizen”. I always thought so, I’m glad that’s settled. Now we can focus on the important stuff, like getting safe access to cannabis in the affordable health care plan.
