The Tollund Man- Found in 1950 in a bog in Tollund, Denmark, was so well-preserved by natural processes that he was initially thought to be a modern murder victim- even though he had been dead for 2400 years! From 1984 to 1992, Olympic synchronized swimming had a singles category! Diprotodons, giant marsupial wombats that lived in Australia until 40,000 years ago, had backward facing belly pouches large enough to carry an adult human!
