@dotweasl Funny you should say that , while here at work reading the comics and eating my lunch of peanut butter and butter sandwich on 3 slices of bread.
When my sister and I reminisce about our childhoods, one of us will usually bring up “sugar bread” – white bread, lotsa real butter, and sugar sprinkled on top. The butter holds the sugar in place. Crunchy goodness.
Too much sodium! But as a kid, I loved the Swanson TV dinners that came in the aluminum tray with the aluminum foil that you had to peel back. The fried chicken and the Salisbury steak were my favorites.
Who wouldn’t have peanut butter with butter sandwiches? With Wonder Bread before they changed it. The butter makes sure the peanut butter doesn’t stick as much..Cinnamon Toast. Fresh white bread, toasted, slathered with butter and then the shovel full of sugar/cinnamon mix on top. .Darn! got the PB & and butter the sugar, the cinnamon. No bread!!!! Sigh!

My dad won’t even eat the frozen dinners. He’s a peanut butter and butter for dinner kind of man!

I thought he lived with them. If he does, does he not eat with them most night? I guess I was wrong.

So, given the garage apartment and black jacket, was Frank nicknamed “Fonzie” when he was young?
BTW, I’ve seen widowers in the IGA filling up their grociery bag in just this manner.

Stouffer’s is a brand name … they make turkey stuffing and other items. (Skillet Sensations for example.)
