Luann ACTUALLY put sufficient postage on that letter the 1st time out for it to get ALL the WAY to OZ!

ha ha ha…………. he said “we need to talk” and supposedly they did skypee…… so………… I predict before Saturday Luann will see someone “IN PERSON!!”

We seem all to be assuming Quill’s letter (note, really) is written in response to Luann’s. But what if it were written before he received her love letter?!There’s still hope, Luann!

Sisyphos makes an excellent point. It takes weeks to post first-class mail from the USA to Australia.

What ya expect, Luann? You listened to BRAD, who did not know Quill. Then you listened to TONI, who probably never even met Quill. YOU knew Quill – listen to your instincts. If you had felt he’s moved on, you were probably right. Now you are seeing your instinct in technicolor.

Who wants to bet….he’s already back in the states.

I’ll bet he hasn’t (or won’t) reciieve her letter, and when they do talk, they’ll each be talking about 2 different things.

Maybe we need to talk means something different in Australia. Also got to hand it to Greg after everyone complained about not seeing enough LuAnn during the Toni Brad story lines he actually managed to get LuAnn in a story with the interesting characters.

I think Wiselad is right. Quill didn’t have to leave Luann in suspense with his letter, he could have just called her long distance. But if he felt he needed to talk to her in person, then I could see him putting her off like this for a little while, cruel though it may seem at the time. Anyway, I hope he does come back, he was all right.

I’ll bet you a dollar that he sent his letter before getting Luann’s.

In real life, “we need to talk” is the kiss of death for most relationships….that’s how the break-up conversation begins. In Luann’s world however, one never knows LOL…..I’m betting Quill is just going to tell her that he’s coming back soon, just so a number of other ridiculous things can happen to keep our main character here from having a REAL relationship with someone the readers and fans actually LIKED.

He said “We need to talk.” Not Tweet, e-mail or text. If it doesn’t drip with passion, that’s because there seems to be some urgency for a face-to-face to continue this conversation.

Oh boy…that doesn’t sound good. I’ve never heard a guy say it, but I imagine it means the same thing as when a gal says it.

Maybe he’s pregnant. Keep in mind that Toni made the assumption that it was a response. Maybe the letters crossed in the mail.

Wouldn’t be a teenager again for anything in the world. That kind of political “say nothin” would make the Presdidet blush? Wooh whee!

Dave, hope you’re right, that we’re being thrown a curve ball here. As it stands the options appear to be:1) Quill wants to end the relationship with class— most guys I’ve known would have just quit corresponding 2) Their letters crossed in the mail, and he wants to tell her the same thing she just told him.But if you, Dave, are right, perhaps 3) He has broken his arm/computer and now must converse by phone 4) Yes, he IS pregnant or has an STD 5) Quill is moving back to the States.

Wesley,REALLY? Guys can’t get pregnant? Darn, we didn’t know that! Guess I can quit paying child support!

Who writes a LETTER to say “We’ve got to talk”? Just call and TALK, for goodness sake. Or there’s this new-fangled thingy you may have heard of, called e-mail. (Not even gonna get into video chat, since these guys are still having trouble with stamps you don’t have to lick.)Because the cartoonist is a senior citizen, that’s why. He needs to get on with the modern day. When HE was a teenager, phoning out of town cost too much so there was only writing letters.

“We need to talk” never ends well.

Fortunately, thanks to Skype, FaceTime, Google Voice, etc., talking with someone in Australia isn’t that big a deal. Go call the guy already!

Let’s see. A male writing plausible dialog for two females speaking privately. Not likely. A 16 year old writing a physical letter. Not likely. A female receiving a physical letter and calling another female before even opening the letter. Seems reasonable. A female having a transcontinental relationship as her only iron in the fire. Very unlikely.

Sorry ladies. We men are dense with stuff like that…

Does get kinda boring watching Luann getting her heart broken over & over.

That’s funny. Toni getting all mad at Quill for Luann’s sake. I see a Sister-In-Law relationship developing here.
