I’ve always found that word funny, too.
THe “eclectic” and “stunningly insightful” did sound like a load of #2.

Re today’s strip: you sure it’s not an old character (play-acting as someone else)?Otherwise, why would she say Hello Ruthie in the first panel? Sounds to me like they already know each other.
In all my work of both art and poetry I don’t believe I ever used pithy. The only reason to (I think) would be if necessary to rhyme.
New characters? I saw on 10 Cats today ;-)
I like to wait for people to notice and comment on my art. It feels right that way
