Transcript:
Brad: "Hey, Miss Daytona. I'm in the mood to shower you with attention"
Toni: "Oooo! I'd love to be showered. But-"
Shannon: "HI, BWAD!"
Toni: "The shower's clogged"
Shannon: "LET'S GO SEE BWAD!"
Brad: "So now I need a cold shower..."
@Donny Wallace Wonder if you gave any thought to your comment before you wrote it. It’s so short. (joke) Lots of interesting points. Personally with Halloween approaching Bwad ought to have TJ introduce little Shannon to a certain hotel shower scene. Then she’ll never bother he or Toni again!
It’s good for Brad to understand this early. After marriage children often follow, and once children are able to get in and out of their own beds, they find their way to the parent’s door, sometimes at awkward times very late at night and/or very early in the morning,, to make their requests and demands. Shannon is a good…‘wake up call’.C.
I see no implication that there has been anything untoward (for a family strip) going on between Brad and Toni. As for what could happen down the road, there’s potential for years of material. Personally I’d love to see the two of them ultimately marry and adopt Shannon, with all the Sturm und Drang that could surround that possibility. As for Luann… she’s aged around 8 years in 30, or something like that; I could be in the grave before she’s ready to settle down with anyone. With this strip, it’s not the destination, it’s the ride.
Wow! A VERY pleasant surprise to catch back up with the only interesting storyline in this strip right now, I wasn’t expecting to see Brad and Toni again for WEEKS, lol! Thanks for the change of pace! Now, if they could just get Luann to babysit for a few hours, they could have a little time to themselves, wink wink. Because let’s face it, Luann has NOTHING going on right now anyway other that silly letter storyline with Quill, and that’s going NOWHERE fast….
Abandoned by a mother who doesn’t care about HER and a so-called “father” who ONLY seems to care about himself and his IMAGINARY Hollywood Career. FORCED upon an Aunt who has a DANGEROUS Enough Job as a Firefighter, WITHOUT having to Also WORRY about a Child Who’s NOT Her’s.
Brad? Son, DON’T You Think its about TIME to MAKE that Anonymous but Well Meaning call to the Local Social Services?
DON’T do it for Yourself. DO IT for the Child.
Oh, Waitress? Another COFFEE and Danish over, Please! I’m FEELING Particularly RIGHTEOUS and GOOEY Today!
I don’t get the Dirk reference… he isn’t mentioned in any panel of today’s strip, not even a thought bubble from Toni. He’s old news. And I do believe both Brad and Toni are of legal age, so what does it matter if he lost his virgiity to her or vice versa? Also, having Shannon interrupt their plans adds an element of realism to the comic. After all, anyone who has kids knows how often they can be a roadblock to any adult activity.
I guess starting this arc suddenly is much more important than reaching some resolution to the Luann-Quill arc. Or is it that Greg has no idea where he’s going with that one and still needs time to figure it out?“Do you think he plans it all out, or makes it up as he goes along?" – Pirates of the Caribbean
My impression was that Toni was purposely conjuring up thoughts of showering together. Very suggestive about the level of intimacey in their relationship. I think it’s a good sign that Shannon seems to like and accept Brad.
I seem to recall that last week you said you were going away, but you are still here.If you can’t be believed on that , then why should you be believed (or even considered) on anything?.I suggest that you deliver on your promise and take your imagining on what you see in the strip with you..Luv’n’kisses,M.
I know the feeling. A week or 2 earlier than tha Leslie Knox was bugging the heck out of Tiff. Ox stepped in and that storyline didnt last to long either. Its like 2 or 3 lines within a month as opposed to past storylines within the past year &1/2 lasted for about a month or more.
.Brad, after having to take cold showers for over 4 years now, you are probably used to them."-I don’t intend to teach anyone how to infer reasonably but please consider the fact that Brad was NOT expecting to need a cold shower until he heard the child was present.-He expected something else to cool him off. Something which would be unlikely with a child watching.-Think, think Man, it’ll come to you. Ask yourself, “What could Brad have intended?”

Shannon turns up at the most inopportune times! —At least, if you’re Brad! Brad, ready; Toni, willing; Shannon, too much!
Angelalex242 about 12 years ago
Better plan! Brad calls TJ, has him babysit Shannon.
Brilliantly evil plan:Brad calls TJ, has him bring Shannon to Weenie World. Ann Eiful doom AND Toni Lovin at the same time.

Frustration is the engine of this strip’s story-line. Get it?

Brad, if all I’ve seen in the past is any indicator, when you finally do marry Tony Daytona, you’ll become an instant family man…

Golly, but there are lots of people with so little to do that that they psychoanalyze everyone IN A CARTOON.

In terms of funny, Evans still got it!
kauri44 about 12 years ago
No, but it might offend a few conservative parents. I think Greg’s being extra cautious for the family comics venue.

Yeah, that’s what I thought too; I can’t go back that far, but I remember a strip that seemed pretty post-coital.

It is only a matter of time before Shannon brings up the idea of Toni marring Brad and she live with them full time.

Since we learnt about Shannon’s parents, I simpathize more with her and love seeing how sometimes she gets along better with some people.
