Yes, Phishface WAS Mugged! And what an uppercut from Honeymoon! Now let’s see if Phishface tries the old, “Let me go and I’ll tell you where your partner is before he runs out of air” routine. Or will it be, “Tell us now, or we’ll let Mugg take a bite out of crime!”

I really hate the advice in today’s Crimestopper’s Textbook. If businesses wouldn’t leave their lights on all night when nobody’s even in the building, we’d be burning a lot less coal and have much less of a greenhouse gas problem.

In that last panel Mugg looks a little bored.

I agree with you all that this action is pretty cool, but I am confused by the story line at this point. Tracy says, “Honeymoon has shown us Phishface.” How did Honeymoon know who Phishface was? She only had indirect internet contact with him because she was scammed by him, but the whole point of internet scams is that they are anonymous. Phishface certainly didn’t post his picture online. It looks like she set Phishface up with the “innocent” remark about the shark, but, again, how did she know who he was? I am sure many of you folks will have a theory about this.

Phishface isn’t the only one with a big appetite; Mugg is hungry too. Honeymoon gives Chum a knuckle sandwich. Team Tracy gives us a strip upon which we can feast.

The changing hair color of Chum may be an easy one. Chum is related to the late Auther Curry (Aquaman) and has a one hour limit on how long he can be out of water. The longer he is “dry” the grayer both his skin and hair become. This also allows for the blond hair the GoComics colorist gave us in some of the early strips, and even the changing color of Curry’s hair in the various strips. ????

I’m a little confused by how Honeymoon knew what Phishface looked like as well. Perhaps Joe the Bartender described him to Sam and Sam relayed that info to the MCS before he went to the aquarium and got snatched? I feel kinda bad for Mugg. I’m sure he’s got a lousy taste in his mouth.

What makes the Sunday Strip’s art seem so different from the dailies? I want to say its the multi tones used by the colorist, but it seems to be an added inker in there in addition to the penciller (to quote silver age speak). .

@ Tarry PlaguerI saw your comments from Friday, thanks. I think your idea for getting Sam in the tank makes sense. With two guys holding guns on him I can see him putting the suit on. And the wench lowering a platform with the suit on it is reasonable. I’ve seen similar at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Thannks!

Ray, Sawdust was Chester Gould’s strip. Moon Maid sold jokes to Chet and the others writing the strip. Vera Alldid’s strip was The Invisible Tribe. Nice tribute from the gasoline Alley strip.

Interesting that Mike mentioned a future crossover with a GA character in DT.

I want a tee like her’s, pale green “Moon Unit One” on black.

I’m willing to wager that some stuff happened behind the scenes, concerning Honeymoon spotting Phishface. My guess is that when Sam met Chum, he sent a picture via Wrist Wizard to HQ. Dick could have asked Honey to watch out for Chum, who may be with Phishface, and report back. I’m also guessing Dick asked her not to engage them, but, being a member of the Tracy family, she went ahead and risked it. Yep, she’s truly her father’s daughter.

Mugg must like fish…face. He tastes wonderful.

I love the expression on Honeymoon’s face in the 3rd Panel. The eyes show so much expression in shock! The was a great Sunday strip for Dick Tracy.

It looks like Mugg is on a “Seafood” diet. It’s good for that pooch!

And Phishface would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn’t for those meddling kids and that giant dog!

nightgaunt, lizz was teaching honeymoon some judo moves a while back… look where honeymoon is pointing when she comments about the shark, she points right at chum! lol! and right before jim lets mugg go to work, isnt that them in teh background behind honeymoon? looks lke someone with a leash in his hands. mugg has a taste for fish it seems huh? good for him… and how embarassing for chum will it be whenhe gets carted off to jail and the inmates find out he was taken down by a little girl? lol! great work on todays strip!
