Used to be able to say that a few years ago too.

This winter we haven’t had snow stay in the ground more than a day. That’s extremely bad for north Idaho.

I grew up in two extremes, winter-wise. In Wisconsin, snow that fell in October stayed until April. And when we moved back to Phoenix, it only snowed every decade or so. Once, a snowfall with big flakes came down, but it rained the last eighteen inches since the ground was so warm.

“Shorter”. As in “more short”. So, no.

I’ve pulled that on the little ones for a very long time."When I was your age the snow was up to here on me.[motioning at my waist]. The smartest of them catch on right away.

I remember comics that showed an adult and a small child wading through snow. The adult, with snow up to his knees, is saying “When I was your age, the snow would come up to my chest.” Meanwhile, the child is wading through snow up to it’s chest.

It was done many times by many cartoonists.

When I was in elementary school, my route walking home went past a church parking lot. When the lot was plowed, the snow was left piled in a long row at the edge of the lot. We kids would climb up and walk along that long pile of snow and to us it might as well have been Mount Everest. Today it probably would come up to just above my waist.

Not enough snow? Try flushing ice cubes down the toilet.
