OMG…. this sort of happened to me recently…. not to this extreme, though.
An “older” woman at Target said “Hi” in a surprised way…. gushed about how long it had been, asked how I’d been doing….
I went along with it, secretly searching my brain to recognise her.
Finally realised she was someone I’d worked with about 30 years ago…. who was actually quite a bit younger than me.
Back then, she was barely an adult, and I’d remembered her that way…. but she’s 50-something now, and sadly, time has not been kind to her.
Tony’s question, meanwhile:
Another puzzler, to me.
Depends on the tense, Tony:
Will you babysit for us Tuesday?..
I babysat James (or for the Johnsons) last week.
I used to babysit him….
etc.
