I knew a girl in high school, 3 years younger than me. I saw her about 20 years after graduation and she was toothless and wrinkled and looked old enough to be my mother.
My sister’s husband hasn’t worked since he married her. Sitting around watching TV and playing on the computer all day aged him a lot too. By the age of 40, he looked at least 60. He’s 69 now, but looks about 80 or 85.
My dad’s side of the family never looked their ages. I’m a year and a half older than hubby, but our favorite waitress won’t give me a senior discount unless he’s with me. And we’re in our mid-70’s!
People always assume I’m younger than I am, It’s all a matter of attitude. I refuse to look, act, or dress "old’. All of our friends are at least 20 years younger than we are.

OMG…. this sort of happened to me recently…. not to this extreme, though.
An “older” woman at Target said “Hi” in a surprised way…. gushed about how long it had been, asked how I’d been doing….
I went along with it, secretly searching my brain to recognise her.
Finally realised she was someone I’d worked with about 30 years ago…. who was actually quite a bit younger than me.
Back then, she was barely an adult, and I’d remembered her that way…. but she’s 50-something now, and sadly, time has not been kind to her.
Tony’s question, meanwhile:
“Babysit or babysat?”Another puzzler, to me.
Depends on the tense, Tony:
Will you babysit for us Tuesday?..
I babysat James (or for the Johnsons) last week.
I used to babysit him….
etc.

Talking to this old guy at the bar. Come to find out he’s the same age as my baby sister.
She’s twelve years younger than me!

Of course, we all assume the other person thinks we look young!
LOL… they could be telling this same tale on us, somewhere else, right now.

I remember when I was young and thinking I’ll be 46 in the year 2000. Now I’m thinking I “was” 46 in the year 2000

@Tony:
Both, at different times in my life.
Second “Daddy’s Home” Question:
Are you “age-itated”?

In my job, I see some of the oldest 60 year olds and some of the youngest 90 year olds you’d ever want to meet.
