I’m thinking we may see a “Mole Wedding” in the future. It would be great to see Mole wed, then adopt Toad as his own.

Mole is an emotional guy, but not at all a “softie.” If anyone ever tries to hurt Toad, he will learn to his regret the WRATH OF MOLE!

Since Johnny Cat is a brand of cat litter, I suppose that explains his incoherent s—, eh, stuff.

I love these exchanges between Tracy and his former enemy. Mole is one of the best supporting characters in the strip (and considering how many there are of those, that says a lot!).

They could’ve been squandered — one never knows what kind of questionable characters we have in Tracy’s city (and the real world, for that matter).

TAKEIS TO JOIN DICK TRACY IN FIGHTING CRIME

Dick Tracy will be inviting the help of characters modeled after real-life actor George Takei and his husband Brad on his new case starting January 13.

Near Tracy’s city, an old Government Resettlement camp from World War II has been covered over with a man made lake for 70 years. Located are clues to a murder cold case, and Tracy contacts one of this friends who was interned there, actor George Takei (under the name of George Tawara).

“I am boldly going where I have never gone before,” said George Takei. “I am looking forward to the trek into the world of Dick Tracy.”

The story should run around 8 weeks and promises to be gripping.

It looks similar to the 1989 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor that I used to drive years ago.

What an underpowered piece of crap.^^Those cars were built here in Ontario, the engines usually came out of the Windsor plant, I guess it was underpowered cause the speed limit is only 100 here

…..looking at Mole get choked up in panel three, it is almost impossible to accept the fact he was a BAD guy – killer, even – at any point in his life. And I must add it is nice to see our usual quibblers contributing insightful comments on the strip today instead – thanks, guys, much appreciated!

@SCOTTtheBADGER; Here is a pic of the new Chevy Caprice police cruiser the The KY State Police are now using. Smaller than the ’95’s, but with a 355 hp V8 under the hood, they’re quick!

Another great character building moment from Team Tracy. And as a direct descendant of the Jamestown settlers from 1607, if Johnnycat hates this country so much, he is more than welcome to look for a better one. The United States may not be perfect but we have a lot going for us. Including freedom of speech. Anyhow I can’t wait for tomorrow’s installment.

A question for car fans. Did the Pontiac Catalina ever get used as a police car? I know that the 2+2 and Super Duty versions were monsters, and that the Catalina is famous for being a “sleeper” car. I don’t know how the four door versions of the car performed though. Supposedly, the421 cu in (6.9 L) V8428 cu in (7.0 L) V8455 cu in (7.5 L) V8engine in these was stock in the mid to late 60’s.
