Detective Macy … Bracy … or something, to the rescue. I don’t think he does exorcisms either, plus I’m sure he has better things to do than investigating B.O. and Gertie’s strange noises.

Meanwhile, British Transport Police confirmed tha “a BTP officer was seriously injured as he responded to tonight’s incident at London Bridge & Borough.” I’m sure many are thinking about the police and citizens of London at this time.

The “Margies” story halted so abruptly, didn’t even rate a coda on Sunday.

How did this family go from Rockford Files neat of Mark to the rumpled ‘slept in’ Columbo look of B.O. ?  Are these guys even blood ?!

Good morning, Captain of the border scouts, Vista Bill, and the ever blazing blue streak fast,  Comet !

I wonder if Mark is a real person, since he seems to be drawn more realistically than usual.

He appears to be a minister of some sort (since he has apparently been called to chase away noisy ghosts).

That smile on Brother Mark’s face might need some exorcising… As for counseling, he will probably advise BO and GG to sell Sunny Dell Acres to him.

I also noticed that “Brother Mark” seems to be modeled after a real person, but I can’t place him.

Also, this appears to be Shelley’s work again – at least the inking, maybe the pencils too. I suppose that is possible, because Sunday’s are submitted ahead of the dailies.

I found the real Brother Freddie Mark. He is Brother Freddie Mark Wilcox of LifeSong Baptist Church. His photo on the church web site proves it.

Gertie & BO must be sitting on some property that Brother Mark wants to expand his church empire.

there has not always been a “crimestopper’s textbook.” Sometimes it has been “Tracy’s Rogues Gallery,” or “Tracy’s Hall of Fame.”

Macy to the rescue! —No, not William Macy, the fine actor; we’ve already had our Guest Appearance with Brother Mark. It’s Detective Bracy who will deal with the “appearances” or haints that are depriving Gravel Gertie of her beauty sleep! Tracyville’s Chief of Detectives can always find time to help out his old friends and in-laws, the Plenty family of Sunny Dale Acres, where the sun is always shining, except when it isn’t….

A bit of a bumpy start to a new storyline … unless he has appeared the past, & I missed it, it might help to know who “Brother Mark” is & why B.O. thought to reach out for him for an “exercise” … especially since exorcism is a Roman Catholic practice & Brother Mark appears to represent a Protestant denomination.

Well, I’m not as good as Pequod, but I’ll give it a whirl:

Scary noises wake the Plentys from their nightly slumber,

Things that go “bump” in the night? How many do they number?

B. O and Gertie place a call for help in exorcising

The spirits that seem to haunt them, they sense a bad moon rising.

“Are you ready, Brother Freddie,” Gertie asks anxiously,

“To rid our home of troll and gnome and make us spirit-free?”

But exorcisms are not Brother Freddie’s specialty,

B. O. decides that it is time to call Detective “Macy”!
