It’s hard to say exactly how B.O. got the current house. The property was originally transferred to him from Diet Smith and Diet also helped to replace the original house after it burned down.

I see Gertie’s 5 o’clock upper lip stubble from yesterday, gone !

I just noticed that the third frame is an exact reproduction of the optional upper right frame in yesterday’s strip. That makes me think that Joe indeed did yesterday’s strip and it probably wasn’t inked by Shelley, but she still had to do the lettering.

Where did Brother Mark go?

And where is Attitude? I wonder what would Brother Mark’s reaction be if he saw Attitude.

Good Morning Ladies and Germs! Wow, I go from one pair of hayseeds to another! (In my lineup, this strip follows Gasoline Alley which two the hayseeds there are named Joel and Rufus)

In the first panel we see that they are back to using an old cast-iron kitchen stove. I guess their stove with a built-in TV must have stopped working. Either that or they sent it over to Gasoline Alley a few weeks ago when Uncle Walt went on Shark Tank to promote his invention of a stove with a built-in TV.

The previous time I heard Haints was on a Jean Ritchie record, played on the Midnight Special, 98.7 WFMT, and has aired continuously since at least 1953. The Jean Ritchie record was a collection of Appalachian folk songs, and the word, Haints, is their word for ghosts, though most of you seem to have already figured that out. My point in bringing it up was trying to nail down the “location” of the Tracy-verse: For much of its existence, it was presumed that Tracy’s unnamed city was Chicago. Some of you have posted that Sunny Dell Acres was a housing development under the Chicago Skyway Bridge – though a quick Google Earth of that area will quickly reveal that the entire area around the Skyway is industrial development – though I’m sure that wouldn’t have stopped Gould from putting Bob Oscar and family there, anyway!

By the by, does anyone have a link to a comic strip in which Gould depicted the Skyway bridge? Again, for what it’s worth, it was one of my favorite places in Chicago.

Only 3 days in & this story is already evoking Walking Dead, Ghostbusters, & Twin Peaks. It’ll interesting to see where it goes from here.

So far in the real world any who call themselves anything but busters. Though you will never find any of them with anything like proton packs.Just “detectors” and some with “psychics” in tow.
