I don’t know who Bribery was expecting, but not Mr. Austin. I don’t remember a Tracy strip ending with a “to be continued” notice before. We’ll get back to them eventually, I’m sure, but not for at least two weeks.

It’s strongly implied that we’ll be cutting away to something else for awhile.

Announcement for my list of Tracy stories on GoComics:

Normally, I repost my list at the start of a new story…but I’m not sure if this is the start and I won’t for over 2 weeks.

Tomorrow is the start of a 2 week long Minit Mystery. The thing is, Lafayette suspecting Crystal is his daughter was introduced during the Sawtooth case. At this point it’s uncertain if this is merely wrapping up a loose end from that story or is the start of a new story. I suspect the latter (in which case the Sawtooth story ended on August 14) but I won’t know for sure until this scene resumes after the Minit Mystery has ended.

I will repost an updated list with Sawtooth at the end, but not until September 3 at the earliest…and maybe not even then. It’ll be up once I know the new story has started.

The fact that Bribery even knows of Lafayette Austin pretty much answers our suspicions. If he knew of Austin’s other interesting fact (he’s a police informant), then he would be dead.

Surprise, surprise

Bribery is surprised to see Austin. He knows who he is, which confirms he knew him when he dated Christine. He would likely know Austin is Crystal’s father, yet chose to send her off to boarding school. As Crystal was never seen nor mentioned in the original Bribery story, it is safe to say she was already off at school. He would not have expected to ever see Austin again. How might Bribery try and use this turn of events to his advantage? To be continued…
