Luigi is much more intimidated by Dot View’s celebrity status than Coffyhead is. Coffyhead is perfectly calm. Dot will not believe that Matt is a drug pusher — at least not yet, but she’s going to be angry at more than just Coffyhead once she fully realizes.

Coffyhead is actually correct, Mattie is a drug pusher. Wanting to get out of the business doesn’t change that. Just ask Michael.

Good morning™, revealed truths !

Dot is in serious denial. She will only know if Tracy lets Matt bring the dope while he follows behind. Looks like this story will have a happy ending replete with a pretty pink bow.

You’d think he’d offer her a cup of coffee.

Mr. Curtis is weaving a simple but effective yarn here. It has also been an interesting one, especially due to its nostalgic feel and flavor. It’s impossible for someone my age to be familiar with all 90 plus years of Dick Tracy’s strip. But Mike’s careful allusion to an earlier part of Tracy’s history encourages new fans to become curious about him. So, people then feel impelled to look up old strips to be brought up to speed. This story got off to a good start and then it got steadily better as it went along. Kudos to Mike! Pleger’s drawings and artwork throughout have been brilliant. I won’t complain here!

If Coffyhead is correct then Matt was the biggest dealer on the planet…only way to explain pallets of 50 pound bags of cocaine/heroin/whatever that he gave to Coffyhead.

The art sucks.

She must know he won’t let her go. She knows who he is.

Almost every day it’s a retelling of the original story with barely any movement of it’s own at all.

For example, WHERE did vitamin find Matt, ASIDE from drug dealing, what else did Matt do… how about giving the character some DEPTH instead of just reusing an old character…which Mike seems fond of doing…remember “SHAKY, THE SEQUEL” or the rehashing of Haf-n-Haf, and let’s not forget the abomination that is FRANKENMINDY!!!!

How can coffyhead and his thug ever let Dot go as she knows who kidnapped her?

1-LOOGIE: Whadaya want to eat. I’ll hock something up for ya! COFFEE MUG: Good one, Loogie!

2-COFFEE: Lemme tell you what this is all about. My man Loogie here is a comic. I’m trying to get “Tonsils” to let him open for him but Tonsils won’t play ball. DOT: YOU FIEND! THAT’S NOT TRUE!

3-COFFEE: What? Do you think I’m trying to blow smoke up your…nose? I am but I’M NOT! Loo is going to be the next Chris Rock and my end is 15% of the gross! Show her, Loo – tell her one of your gut busters!

LOOGIE: OK Boss. Hey lady? Would you rather have Golf Balls or Tennis Elbow? HA! GIMME CREDIT WHEN YOU TELL IT!!!

DOT: Either is better than having CORN NUTS!

COFFEE: WHAAAAT?!?!? Get lost, Loogie! I got me a new client!

Can Dot View handle the truth?

Coffyhead at least isn’t rushing to kill her; indeed, it seems he wants to keep her safe (including from lecherous Luigi). But will she be able to hold up psychologically to the facts about Matt McCullar? Or will she refuse to believe (which would not be a good outcome, ultimately)?

Don’t you HATE kidnappers who blow cigarette smoke in your face??
