So, I guess that Matt never did spill the beans to Tracy on what he was up to, but it doesn’t matter since Officer Milligan is surveilling him. I think that Tracy is correct to concentrate his efforts in catching up with the hostage-taker/blackmailer/drug-dealer, rather than with Matt. Matt can be a lure to get the more serious prey that Tracy is after.
For those who were worried that Sam might have gotten rid of his toothpick, there it is. I’m not sure what’s up with the MC. I don’t think I’ve ever seen car headlights that go all across the front of the car, including the middle of the grill
Coffyhead and Luigi have no one to tell them if Matt was being followed. Unless a shoot-out takes place, both of them will get city issued bracelets by this time next Thursday.
Design problem (specifically with the word balloons) in panel 2: at first I thought Tracy was referring to Sam Catchem as “Milligan” for some incomprehensible reason.
If Tonsils did cooperate, and he knows where to meet Coffyhead, then Tracy would know also, and wouldn’t have to tail him to the hideout. If he didn’t tell Tracy what is going on, then Tracy doesn’t know about Dot.
Curtis is telling a compelling story so far. It’s not much of a leap at all to think Tracy has some doubts about Matt’s story, after interrogating him. A trail of breadcrumbs was carefully put down by Mike. So follow them. This story has great focus and machinery…Mike got it right. Let’s just see what happens next. Before, we were nagging there was now action. For the past few days, there has been plenty. As we near the story’s zenith and its conclusion, let’s leave it to Curtis to resolve his loose ends.
Went back to the 4-20 strip and all I see is a side view and then a front view with a blue vertical band; first on the side and then it moves to the front. If that is the “button”, mystery solved otherwise …… methinks “someone” has been partaking and it aint me. LOL !
He is referring to the date identifier in the 4/20 strip, which is in a circle at the top left of the first panel, and thus appears to be on Tracy’s hat.
There is unquestionably a leap from yesterday’s strip to today’s, but we can suss it out easily enough with a little thought. (In part here I repeat what I said in a Reply to avenger09’s post, the second of the day, above.)
Tracy cut Matt McCullar loose for want of any substantial charge on which to hold him; Matt had not sung like a canary (fearful for Dot View). Tracy (in an off-screen moment not seen by us) ordered that Matt be followed, by Officer, or perhaps more likely Detective, Milligan. As in panel 3 we see Tracy and Sam’s unmarked car, Milligan reports in, with a wrist-device holo-image, what he sees.
Tracy evidently wants to use Matt to lead him to the next level of offender, namely a drug buyer but more importantly a probable kidnapper holding a female hostage (deduced from the scarf), whom we know to be none other than Tracyville’s own celebrity TV hostess/dim bulb, Dot View.
We are on course for a confrontation and perhaps the conclusion of this tale….

Good morning™, belayed collars !
Looks like we’ll be taking a Milligan. Does Mattie get to take one after cooperating, assuming he did Tell all to Tracy ?

1-DT: Anybody got eyes on Tonsils? I let him go to the bathroom before bringing him in for an interrogation and…
2-…uh, Sam let him slip away. SAM: Sigh…typical. I get the blame, Tracy takes all credit
MILLIEGOON: I got him boss. He’s either making a deal or a date.
DT: SHUT UP! YOU KNOW THE RULES – DRUGS ARE OK BUT NOT THAT OTHER THING YOU’RE SUGGESTING!
3-MILLIEGOON: Sorry boss. Anyway, I’m riding his bumper. I mean, I’m on his tail. No, I’m so close that if I reached around…
DT: BREAK OFF AND REPORT TO MY OFFICE YOU IDIOT.
MILLIEGOON: Yes sir…

1.)We don’t know if Tonsils 2 ever visited the “main warehouse” we saw early in the story, which means he could easily lead Tracy there.
2.)Tracy still is unaware of “old buddy” Coffyhead’s presence.Once he is,he’ll become the priority.
3.)This is the 227th version of Officer Milligan.
204 of them are dead.
