My new laptop with Win10 preinstalled works fine. Last time I upgraded with a $70 CDROM was going from Win 3.1 to 95. What a mess. buy the complete install. Oddly enough, Best Buy agreed to take back the update disk and refund my cash!
My Windows 10 upgrade was done by the shop where I bought the computer; they were able to handle any glitches. Not crazy about the Favorites list in the Hub, though. There’s no updated file folder, they’re supposed to be in the Edge cloud database. I liked XP the best.
I disagree. My laptop has 10 on it, and I don’t have any problems with it. Google chrome, on the otherhand, uses so #)#&$d much memory for all of it’s “extensions” that I might not make it to the bottom of this page.
Do any of you have this problem with the GO COMICS site? I have to hit ‘back’ about five or six times to get the screen to return to the list of comics. It didn’t use to do that either.
I second the AdBlock Plus recommendation. It eliminates the pop-ups, while allowing static ads. NO issues until Firefox added an option I had to adjust to recently and once I did the adjustment, NO issues.
I cannot believe this comic strip coming today. was using my computer and left it on when my sister suddenly arrived . I left the room with the computer on sitting on the dining room table for about 15 minutes. When I came back my computer was uploading to Windows 10 all by itself. I never wanted windows 10 and I never asked for it and it has taken me 3 and a half hours to get windows 8 back. I just wish I could go back to windows 7. Heck Windows 98 is better than windows 10. I think Microsoft is really wrong and sneaky to download something you do not want and have repeatedly said i did not want in the past.
Thanks all for the advice. I’ll get my much more savvy than me wife to look at what y’all suggest. (she has a BS in MIS and knows a lot more about computers than I ever will!)
I’ve done alot of Win 10 upgrades for other people (I’m a tech), and this is precisely why I’m still running Windows 7 Ultimate on my laptop. No plans to upgrade to Win 10.
This machine is running XP as is the one in my holiday caravan. The laptop and other one run W7 and used to get the annoying W10 update spam until I deleted and blocked the three KB updates that caused it. Perhaps in a few years MS might get something out that works.

SO TRUE!!!I had Windows 10 on my computer for two weeks and changed it back to Windows 7. Even 8.1 on my tablet is better.

I tried 10 for a week, then went back to Win 8. Never even tried 10 on my laptop. Best machine in the house is the old desktop running XP Pro!

I switched to Ubuntu over three years, and I haven’t missed Windows since. Can’t beat free, especially when it’s also faster and more reliable.

Really? I think the 10 is faar better than the 8.Went from XP to 8 (because of a to old computer), and that was a big disappointment.
