I watched the post debate commentary on MSNBC. I thought that Ed Schultz and Chris Mathews were going to stroke out from the Presidents passive response to some of Romney’s statements. Rachel Maddow was impressed with the way Mittens ran rough shod over Jim Lehrer.

Actually, I think Romney(no, I’m not a Romney or Obama supporter, yet) kind of took control of it. I’m only wondering why Denver instead of the East side, like Virginia, Pennsylvania, or Massachusetts.

How do you spin the fact that Romney did not offer one bit of detail? No plans, no explanations, nothing spelled out. Romney was no more forthcoming than he has ever been.

Mittens managed to not screw up, and to sound reasonable.Obama was halting at times, but if you listened, his answers, he made more sense. Mitt won narrowly. If that is enough, we shall see. Two to go. Never underestimate our Presidents’ ablility to come back.

If you like winning a debate with out specifics than Romney is your guy. He was trying to come across much more moderate than he and Paul Ryan have been campaigning. You can’t have it both ways.I am curious what his party believes about his even vaguer tax policy?Plus he is on the recors now for saying his wants Mittcare ie. Obamacare state by state.I love how he thinks it is just wonderful to push higher Medicare and medicaid cost They can’t print money so starving the beast moves merrily along.

Obama needed to really nail Romney for changing his positions for the umpteenth time. Go for the 1-2 punch. He can do it. He will next time. Also he needed to nail him for not offering real plans and Romney never did that, he only denied what Obama said about his record even though it speaks for itself.

For instance, Romney has stated in the past that teachers would be cut and he doesn’t think that is makes a difference in terms of classes sizes being larger or smaller. Last night, he claimed the opposite of this— oh yes he loves teachers. He denied many things that Obama brought up, even though there is a record of him saying those things. Ted Kennedy nailed him as being “multiple choice” in his Senate debate years ago in regard to the subject of abortion. Romney was super careful not to use the term voucher although it is a key element in his Social Security/ Medicare/education plan.

Good for Miguel. MIke Trout had a great year, but the Triple Crown and winning the division should give the MVP to Cabrera. I wonder if anyone except Teddy Ballgame ever won the Triple Crown and didn’t win the MVP. Teddy did it twice.

I was waiting for Romney to take down Jim Lehrer and cut his hair… It was a filibuster last night, not a debate. I don’t necessarily think this was a game changer however. The party of Todd Akin cant be allowed to win this, no matter how the GOP tries to manipulate. If Obama doesn’t do better next time he may only win by a few million votes.

When Obama challenged Romney’s PUBLISHED 5 billion dollar tax cut figure, Romney “refudiated” the figure and switched to the “magic number”, an unspecified value which would not increase the debt. If that’s not spinning, I don’t know what is.

If the one who is rudely arrogant, offers up nothing but lies and deceit, claims to be against everything he has been recently saying he was for, and wants to privatize the whole country leaving us at the mercy of greedy corporate CEO’s such as himself, then sure… Etchy won.

Very disappointed in Jim Lehrer. He asked only one question all night, “How do you differ from your opponent on --?” and asked no followups, contested nothing. Also disappointed Obama didn’t call him on his lies, but I guess he was trying to look presidential. It’s sad when we can sit at home saying, “Ask him about this or that!” and the candidate doesn’t seem to be able to ask a simple question that would be hard to answer.

Wow, are people ever unloading on this website. So I guess I’ll put in my own two cents:πFirst, I think today’s strip is brilliant in-depth psychological satire.πSecond, last night’s debate may prove to be the tipping point in Romney’s favor. Get used to it, fellow lefties. Obama is the greatest disappointment in recent American political history. πLWP’s first prediction, that Romney would win the first (and most crucial) debate, has proven to be true. His second prediction, that Romney will go on to win the presidency, may well prove out as well.πBye bye, land of the free and home of the brave!

Apparently the head is right. Ted Williams won the triple crown in 1942 and 1947 and didn’t get the MVP either year. The other two guys who had triple crowns without winning the MVP were Chuck Klein in 1933 and Lou Gehrig in 1934. Thank you, Google, my bff.

I keep wondering why on earth Romney and Ryan think that re-introducing the profit motive and the unfettered greed of CEOs and corporations into Medicare is supposed to lower the costs of it. If it’s such a great idea, why isn’t everyone younger than 55 clamoring for it?

Oh, right, part of Romney’s fortune is from Hospital Corporation of America, which was the most profitable hospital chain by pushing doctors not to give more expensive care options to patients and which worked hard at gaming the Medicare reimbursement codes so as to reap up to double on their Medicare reimbursements. Now there’s your Medicare fraud!

When all the old f**ts reduce themselves to sophomoric attempts to dissuade the outcome when all concerned know that what is past is past, it’s just a crying shame.I’ve seen bluster and bafflement before but nothing on this order. ^I guess I am guilty of baiting a few. Whoeee, it was worth it. Night gaunt told me he was getting something done, at least the atheists were. If I remember correctly, Hitler, Stalin, Trotsky and quite a few more, were atheists. They got a lot done. I’m not saying you are of that ilk, but to attack a believer for publicly stating so, is, well not progressive or tolerant.^Dinkytown, go ahead, be an agnostic. However, the fulness of your post sounded more atheisticthan not. Therefore, see above post.^^To all of you who stoop to overly critical blasts, shame on you. Thats both sides.
