Hamid Karzai: So all you do is kill Afghans? Red Rascal: Not at all, Excellency! I also help bring in crops, settle disputes, and teach math to girls! I even organized a well-attended book fair in a remote village near Jalalabad! Hamid Karzai: At which people died. Red Rascal: There was a trampling or two, yes. No one had ever seen a book before. The Rascal is negotiating for the right to fight evil in Afghanistan through '24

And to think that Afghanistan was once part of the Persian Empire, one of the great centres of civilisation and learning in the ancient world.

Keep them voting is a problem? Voting for the working poor is only a problem for the ruling class.

the book “event” was probably the site of a drone attack,. you know, a Military “book event”, set up to create more enemies in the guise of getting “one.” the American way to “win friends and influence people.” win-win-win American style

’ It is believed that among other things the country holds $3 trillion in untapped mineral deposits.’.Or at least, that’s what they told us when they wanted us to stay there forever. Sort of an “oil will pay for this war in Iraq” lie.

Nothing you have said here about all the mineral wealth that may or may not be in Afghanistan equates to the lives of US uniformed personnel, or members of nongovernmental organizations trying to solve problems and deliver aid. If multinational corporations want to mine for those minerals, let them bring in their own paid mercenaries to protect their ventures.

A fictional account of a fictional event and folks are still upset..Reminds me of Li’l Abner reading Fearless Fosdick which seemed a spoof on all detective fiction with Li’l Abner worshipping, not realizing he was a double joke. .When the situation is hopeless, bail out until such time as help actually becomes possible.

Envision some sort of America taking over Afghanistan all you want, but current contracts are with China and they might just object.
