Zonker: Well, I'm about packed, Joanie. Joanie: Toothpaste, Zonker! I don't know if I've got enough toothpaste! Zonker: Don't you think there are probably drug stores out there? Joanie: I don't know! I don't know what the drug store situation is like out there in California! I've got to be prepared! My manual! Where's my law school manual?! Oh, here it is... stamps? Oh, and my yellow legal pads! Have I got enough?! Ooh, why is law school so complicated?! Zonker: Got your uniforms yet? Joanie: Uniforms? What uniforms?!

STOP THE LEFT SIDE SLIDING ADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Trying to mellow and read a few cartoons has gotten to be an ordeal!!!! It’s like trying to read a paper while someone jerks it around continually and just past annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!I am looking for another place to get cartoons and don’t suggest Yahoo, I came here from there![I did refrain from the profanity I utter every time the stuff jerks around too…. it makes me furious]

Exactly right, Gweedo.

@RyanI never will. They’re trying to force you into paying to enjoy the comics. Hate it when companies do that to make a buck.

I remember going off to law school, armed with some yellow legal pads, exactly 60 years ago. Still have some, they’ve yellowed even more with age.For the youngsters: Yellow legal pads were what i-Pads are now.

GoComics periodically gives complimentary “Pro” status. I’ve got it right now. But even before that, Adblock was taking care of that problem.

Haven’t been here in awhile – still reruns. As far as I’m concerned he’s retired now and just won’t say it.

Adblock, helped, but didn’t entirely eliminate ads. I don’t mind them being off to the side – you can choose to read them or not. Its when they jump right into what you’re trying to read that they become offensive, especially if its repetitive. No means no – one click should do it. To some degree, reading Go Comics is like playing a video game. If I see a third tab at the top, click it away before it gets you.

I should go pro, just because. In the meantime, I’ve gotten very good, and fast, at clicking, “Close Ad”…..

Wow, are you all going to whine about the ads today? Read the strip in the paper;you can skip the ads and go straight to the comics page.

Adblock lets some ads through, on purpose, so you need not feel guilty about not “paying”. OTOH, I have gotten so that I don’t even notice the ads that are left; I use gmail, and forgot they even had ads until something caught my eye. That is why an ad for an unrelated product will feature a pretty girl: that is what attracts people’s attention.

We were checking out resorts online for a vacation last year. In the next couple of days, ads for one of them started popping up here and elsewhere, nonstop for a couple of weeks. So we took it off our list and went elsewhere.

Same here. The “wandering” ad is gone, and the video on the right that used to auto start is, too. But I’m not sure if Adblock is responsible for killing the video, or if GoComics just quit using them.

I remember this strip! Joanie’s panic packing! It is so right! You’re going far away. Far away doesn’t have pens & pencils. Legal pads or even soap! Take everything!!!!
