Doonesbury by Garry Trudeau for April 21, 2016
Transcript:
Duke: Excuse me, sir. There's a rumor in the slave quarters that I'm on the block. Duvalier: That's right, Legume. A rich American wants to buy you. He claims to be your nephew. Duke: Nephew? You mean Zonker? Oh, please, Your Malignancy, not him! Zonker's a monster! Cruelty incarnate! He's evil on the hoof! Or is that my cousin Alfredo? I get them mixed up. Duvalier: It doesn't matter, the deal is as good as done! Duke: Couldn't you sell him one of the other guys? Duvalier: Sorry. I already sent him your brochure.
Duke may not be so stupid. Protesting may be a way to assure that he can get out of there, because His Malignancy doesn’t want any of his slaves to be there willingly.
