When was the last time Boopsie went to an audition?

I should stipulate up front that I have never watched a single episode of one of these shows. I will say that, at least to the extent that a season’s worth of “action” may in fact be pre-recorded, you could make BD’s argument about any show. The idea that such reality shows are all broadcast after the fact and with ample opportunity for editing has, as far as I am concerned, always been a given.

Are union actors on strike?

You are telling me the HGTV house hunter and fixer upper programs are all fake? I’m calling Spicey for the real poop. Hello? Hello? Spicey must be Out!

Anyone who has ever had a house built or had extensive remodeling done knows what a crock these home building / renovation shows are.

The ones I use to watch were on PBS and were done by real construction companies.

And, OF COURSE, the renovations they show on some the programs CAN all be finished within a week or so. Yeah. Right.

@Night-Gaunt49 Of course, they edit heavily the episodes when things go awry, they damage the house or don’t finish the work or don’t do it properly, and the clients sue them.

That happens more than you might think. It seems that in their zeal to look good on camera, some corners sometimes get cut that make it hard to live the result.

Why do the televisions in doctors’ office waiting rooms now stay tuned to HGTV? In the past they would be tuned to CNN or MSNBC, but now all my medical providers, dental, endocrinologist, GP, military pharmacy, etc. have their waiting area sets tuned to HGTV…. UGH!

That’s how I felt when I learned that Storage Wars is scripted

Corporate overlords don’t want to deal with the Screen Actors Guild. They also don’t want to pay the guys who script the “reality” as writers.

Only reality show I watch is “Jeopardy”. I always win, too!

This is actually historically accurate except it was writers strike that led to the first big push of reality TV shows.

Seems like the trump White House is full of actors. Certainly not real statesmen.

For those who are mad that I brought up Trump, I’m sorry. I thought it was Snark Week.

Typical union reply. “If somebody else has the job, they’re obviously a scab.”

Do yourself a favor. Get rid of your TV. All the best shows are available later on DVD. And watching the news is bad for your mental and physical health, not to mention the advertising.

I’m glad Boopsie is offended by scabs.

If 25 workers can remodel a house in a week, 9 women can have a baby in a month…

For a minute there, I thought Boopsie was going to leave the world of wide-eyed innocents and finally join the slit-eyed population. Whew!

This is one where I wish I could have heard the dialogue, from B.D. and Boopsie, instead of reading it.
