Some readers keep presuming the absolute worst about J.J. and Zeke as if they’re utter and total jerks. Such readers aren’t giving GBT much credit. Virtually all recurring characters have both bad and good in them. If Zeke was as bad as some people seem to think, he wouldn’t be at the hospital at all, he’d have caught the next bus to Wherever without giving J.J. a second thought. Zeke’s not a total imbecile — total imbeciles don’t last long in the morally ambiguous underworld — he’s just not smart enough to realize how smart he isn’t.
