While he’s going after fictional characters, does anyone suppose he’ll ever go after Jesus?

Next up for him: marriage equality, he says SCOTUS was wrong to rule in its favor 50 years ago.

Of course Ted Cruz goes after fictional characters because he chooses to act like a badly written Saturday morning cartoon villain.

Aaaah…so this is the “Hollywood Elites” that the wingnuts of the political right keep bringing up. Children’s animation and puppets, at least the Republicans are are punching in their weight class.

Cruz attacked Big Bird nine times? I guess when you find a vote-winning line like that, you stick with it — how many times has Trump attacked toilets?

But no amount of repetition is too much — Trump has said the election was stolen so many times, and still Herschel Walker claims he’s never heard him say it.

Sadly, somewhere in the US is a wannabe shooter who is now thanking Cruz for suggesting that schools limit escape routes and better yet, suggesting that they create choke points/bottlenecks where panicked children will be easy prey.

The next time Cruz slithers out from under yet another tough time and runs to Cancun, they should just keep him and earn our eternal gratitude.

Not to take sides here, but apparently the goof made the funny papers. From what I have seen over the years, getting in the comics is almost a requirement for High Political office. If they’re too obscure for “Doomsbury”, they’ll never make it to capitol hill.

The one door school sounds good to keep out the bad guys. But, as soon as there’s a fire, and dozens of kids get burned, then they’ll be the cries for more school building reform. No, in my day there was often only one entrance but in the barbed wired fence that surrounded the school. Multiple doors were required by the fire code.

Is that bit about Cruz attacking Big Bird real? I think I’m lozing my ability to tell the difference between news and sarcasm, and I’m worried that if I search for Cruz and Big bird on Google, I’ll regret it.

No one can turn on a dime they way Cruz can. He went from condemning Jan 6 to blaming democrats for it in less than 2 minutes. The man is pure sleaze but he is smart and because of that way more evil than trump or even Desantass

Cruz can say and do whatever he wants because he knows he will ALWAYS be reelected as long as he wants the job. And Abbott is going to be reelected too, probably by a landslide. Beto has no chance. Texans apparently love the way the state is being run even if that doesn’t make any sense to the rest of us.

In a no-holds-barred cage fight, I’d give Elmo 5-to-7 odds against Cruz.

Wisconsin is giving Texas a run for the money when it comes to dumb members of Congress. Sure, they’ve got Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Louis Gohmert, but coming up fast on the outside are Sen. Ron Johnson and Rep. Glenn Grothman.

With all the gaffes made by the “Big Guy” the strips would practically write themselves. Just think of what you could do with the POTUS shaking hands with an imaginary person?

As a Texan who loathes Cancun Cruz, it warms my little heart to see him goaded so well and done in Doonesbury! I like to communicate with Ted and his office via their website comments section and this excellent gem will be at the top of the list.

Would Garry consider a rogue’s court of Texan politicians that need to be outed and outsted?

I nominate Guv Greg Abbott, Lt Guv Dan Patrick, Att Gen Ken Paxton, Ag Com Sid Miller, Sen John Cornyn and then our fav Ted Cruz!

Cruz fled to Cancun during that winter storm which crashed the Texas power grid, leaving hundreds without heat during a severe storm. The Texas grid was stressed to the breaking point the past week or so with record breaking heat, with power officials begging people to turn off all electricity to avoid bringing the grid down again. Abbot et. al. have not implemented any improvements to the grid since the winter storm to increased resiliency.

Trudeau is losing it. Writing fiction when Biden provides lots of fodder. There was a time Trudeau would go after either party. I don’t think he has done one strip on Biden or Harris let alone Pelosi or Schumer. Such a shame.

When one thinks of garbage, one thinks of taking it to the dump. But, what if garbage could take a dump? That dump would be Trump. Ted Cruz, Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, etc. would be a kernels of corn in the stool. Vote Blue as if your freedoms depend on it because they do.

While Seth Meyers has done a good job pointing out when the right goes after fictoinal characters , leave it to good old Tredeau to top him by quantifying just how much of an idiot ted is. And this is from someone whose main job is critquing animation but I go after content or make jokes, not you know, get mad because “gasp” a cartoon character has progressed past the 1940’s!

My daughter worked as an intern animator at Sesame Street. They are very particular about their content in terms of child safety. I would say that prioritizes everything else they do as a concern in their company, which is as it should be.

Do you think Ted Cruz will ever perceive the pattern in his own declarations, sheer idiocies delivered with dead seriousness, and admit that he’s carrying on like a babbling idiot? This installment is a prime example of how GT is spreading things too thin. I have to wonder why he even bothers with the strip anymore. With all the mass stupidity in the news these days, so much of which is taken far too seriously, he needs to start delivering 7 days a week again. Especially considering the regular cast is still aging in real time, but we barely see them continue to develop as characters—just little snippets here and there. Mike’s grandsons look about ready for middle school already, and we may not see them again until they’re ready to graduate.
